Mind at Large compiled by Noema / Part II

In 1954, Aldous Huxley introduced the concept of „Mind at Large“ to help interpret psychedelic experiences. According to this concept, the human mind filters reality under normal circumstances while psychedelic drugs remove the filter, exposing the user to a Mind at Large. 

In 2021, our label boss Noema selected 15 tracks ranging from Downbeat to uptempo House Music, to help you opening these Doors of Perception.

In the second double-single, you meet Serpoosh & Noema with The Oddness at the doorstep.

In „Observance“ The Oddness creates a unique blend of different styles including late-80s Disco vibes, modern Downbeat, and middle-eastern synth Pop. Watch out for the disco synth-strings and cheeky marimba rhythms! Together with those heavy beats, hypnotic vocals, and driving basslines, this tune is a guarantee for serious dancefloor action.

Sol Selectas embarks on its seventh annual summer compilation which collects together tracks from around the world and releases them on the day of the summer solstice, which is the year's longest day of sunlight.

Summer Sol VII is a 26-track release that features music ranging from atmospheric deep house to percussive Afro house and downtempo electronic full of organic textures.

It includes tracks by label favourites such as Goldcap, Yamil, Guy Maayan and label owner Sabo, plus Sol Selectas debuts from artists like Safar (FR), Murmusica, and Amour Propre. In total the compilation features many new artists who are all being welcomed into the Sol Selectas family via their debut on this release.

The release features tracks from artists with roots in USA, Iran, Ukraine, Armenia, Turkey, France, Spain, Palestine, Colombia, Israel, Italy, Peru, Egypt, Mexico, Russia, Morocco, Eritrea, and Brazil. Together all these cultures and backgrounds combine to form the soundtrack of Summer and good vibrations.

Under the sun's rays we are all equal, regardless of skin colour, gender, political allegiances or sexuality, and this release is a celebration of how music brings people together. The music drifts from coast to coast, across several mountain ranges, deserts dunes and salty oceans.

Each of the tracks have their own story and is a little ray of sunshine to warm the mind, body and soul. All the previous releases in this annual series have been top sellers on Beatport, and this year is expected to be no different.

The cover art by Helia Jamali is taking us to a gorgeous Summer Sol dreamscape, illuminated by magic and crystal blue waters.

The portuguese crew NSD strikes again with a new V.A., showcasing through 6 tracks the multiple directions that cross the label’s wideranging dance music aesthetic. The system fizzed and flashed, electrical currents buzzed and vibrated and his body was alive with a throbbing pulse which kept him awake and preoccupied. His heart was a microchip, a special type of man. He wondered what it was to be human and not machine, to be something more than a framework. His software told him what to feel and think but there were times in which even that short circuited and caused internal dispute. Perhaps it would be best if some great virus touched down upon his portals and plagued his very core. 

Agents Of Time are set to release a new EP on longstanding German label Kompakt, an imprint which requires little introduction. They deliver an eclectic mix of club ready tracks alongside one particularly interesting downtempo excursion which we bring you today.
