Geuzz - Melodic Waves Podcast - September 2022

I've heard/read that it takes time for a DJ to find their style. After spinning live a bunch the past two years and spending time behind the decks, I'm starting to hone in on "my sound." What clicked for me was when a friend of mine was over last night (who is a full-time DJ) ask me "do you know most of your tracks?" I told him I probably know 10% of them, and it's always a surprise when I'm sifting through my library and I re-discover a track that I bought a while back. He laughed and said "Yeah, I mean, you have a very specific sound so I'm sure you can pull a track and mix it in readily."

This set is me finally capturing "my sound." It isn't exactly easy-listening (its more aggressive Electronica), but I love it. I built a crate of 60 tracks and recorded this hour long session, choosing tracks that felt right.

Erick Martinez, a native of Guadalajara Mexico, currently residing in Tulum, Quintana Roo is a professional DJ and Audio Engineer. Erick has had a long-standing interest and love affair with electronic music since he was very young, and made his first appearance at the Decks in 2002. This was the start of his musical career, and shortly after, Erick set out to Barcelona to study Audio Engineering and discover the Spanish scene music.  After, he moved to London, England where he focused on the study and personal rediscovery of electronic music in UK's vibrant and historic club scene. Since then, he has traveled and performed in a number of countries such as England, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. 

Mean while Erick has Tulum and The Riviera Maya as base and at the same time traveling around  Mexico with his own style and performance on the decks.

Overwhelmed by the sight of the island already from the plane, many first impressions, meeting positively crazy people, cool locations and an indescribable nightlife. Madness! But sometimes all you need is the right music and a break by the sea. Suddenly a thought flashed through his mind. He wants to go back. 
Driven by the sound of his favorite band "The Prodigy", JP started analogue in 2001 with a lot of vinyl on solo paths through a successful mix of house and tech house. His sound is somewhere between Electronic, Deep & Lounge house, his music exudes a pleasant lightness that ignites a certain magic in the sunset as well as in hip locations.
The combination of electronic music combined with classical elements arouses the listener's curiosity. JP - Jasch Patrick is an artist, producer & DJ, who finds a chilling and relaxing audience with his light groove in every club lounge, on every rooftop, and every beach club.
