Arriving on @planetmurecords with debut 12-tracker 'InitiatriX', Manchester-based producer Ship Sket (@hdmurder) pays homage to UK styles like dubstep, grime, drill and rap, but on an emotional level, it’s about spirituality, fetish, and latent darkness hidden by outward appearances.

“I like happy accidents, messing around and resampling, and kind of seeing how far I can push stuff before it disintegrates in front of me," Ship Sket says. "I’ve heard my tunes on a club system and gone, 'wow that mix sounds bad', but the tune is still popping. My approach is a lot more stylistic than it is technical."

On this 9th episode of Sunflowers Radio, host Cat A Lula welcomes in this second part London-based producer ultra caro who is in town this weekend for the staple Rotterdam festival Left of the Dial. Joining us in the booth is also dj/producer Himera. Together, they will share their insights on self music-productions, their debuts and future projects as well as finding your place in the industry.

Having produced for Charli XCX as a member of Planet 1999, and for daine and MEYY herself, previous single and introduction to wild at ♡, “from the heart <3” signified a seismic shift in her artistry. The dimension-shattering instrumental and final track from the forthcoming 11-track album served as just 1/11 of the paths divined by caro♡, like 11 Tarot card spreads, each song promises a different destiny. Her upbringing in the remote stillness of coastal France has deeply shaped her relationship to creativity, “I feel like an outsider having grown up in a place where there’s no cultural industries. I didn’t know the difference between a songwriter, a producer or a composer as a kid so I didn’t build these boundaries in my head”. 

Himera moulds emotional and story-driven soundscapes, toying with the base notes of trance and pop music. Having released their debut EP in 2022, they present a body of work full of synth-heavy ballads and disorienting pop tunes.

It feels almost unnecessary to introduce Blood of Aza in 2025. Her work has already become a reference point within the experimental electronic scene — redefining how emotion, distortion, and form can coexist in sound.
For us, her story began in 2021–2022, when her SoundCloud edits started to circulate — raw, emotional takes on pop tracks that felt both familiar and completely new. Her reworks of Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj blurred the line between club energy and confession, setting the foundation for a new kind of intimacy.
Then came “Longing for What Never Existed” — detailed and painfully human. Soon after, her debut EP Beneath Wings refined that vision. The sincere “Barreleye” stands out as a catharsis of emotion and vulnerability — unfolding and collapsing at once. With her debut album I Heard Your Calls, Aza turned inward, exploring grief and saturation — like breathing through something that still hurts.
By 2024, her mixtape Exhibit A expanded her sound completely — forty-nine tracks that blur the line between release and reflection. Playful reinterpretations of Baby Keem and Beyoncé sit beside moments of stillness; the original “Missing from Me” feels like standing alone when there’s nothing left to hold onto but the echo. This project fully captured her instinct not to comfort or to shock, but to reflect things exactly as they are: unfiltered, multifaceted, and deeply human.
For Beats & Bliss, Blood of Aza offers a mix that leans toward the softer side — spacious, focused, and quietly intense. A living, breathing work — deeply felt and fully alive.
