'Presenting their first release of 2022, Roger Martinez’s Higher States welcomes Alan Cerra to the label for his debut EP. Based in Argentina, Alan first emerged in 2019 with a contribution to 3rd Avenue’s popular ‘We Are The Future’ series. His progressive sound quickly found footing with world class DJs such as Cid Inc, Eelke Kleijn, Hernan Cattaneo, Miss Monique and more. Further successes came across the next two years, with the Río Gallegos resident finding a home on Beatfreak, Hoomidaas, Mango Alley and Siona Records. Continuing on an upwards trajectory as 2022 takes shape, Alan now adds Higher States to his resume with a three-track showcase entitled ‘Ascension’. 
Getting the release underway and sitting as one of Alan’s most infectious productions to date is ‘Ascension’. Renowned for his ability to bring life to any dance floor, Alan layers strong chord stabs and a forest of manicured percussion over driving beats and a rolling groove. Epic and exhilarating in equal measure, the first act eventually melts down as ghostly overlays and blustery effects provide a smooth transition into the break. Pushing a poignant narrative, cascading melodies and warm textural drifts marry beautifully across the interlude, building emotion with each successive pass before eventually giving way to a thumping drop and charged finale.
The second selection ‘Lacuna’ follows suit and lands with equal vigor. Alan’s smooth groove and hip swinging hooks power the framework, while whimsical arps and buzzing effects add depth and colour across the first movement. Placid overlays illuminate a tastefully euphoric break, setting in a motion a rise of drums and modulation onwards to a buoyant finale.
Putting a stamp on this excellent collection are the wavy grooves and psychedelic design of ‘Isle Of Man’. Bright and uplifting throughout, it’s a collage of lively percussion, striking stabs and spastic effects which captivate leading into the break. Wistful themes further the story as the centrepiece unfolds, bringing with them hopeful moods and transcendent vibes, before clustered sonics put your senses on alert for a thunderous drop and high-octane finale. It rounds out three excellent productions from Alan Cerra, a fast-rising talent who continues to grow into his place as a future progressive music star.'

Madloch's Sound Avenue continues a strong start to the year by welcoming Will Konitzer and MeowWow to the label for their debut single. Hailing from the USA, Will Konitzer first emerged over a decade ago on the strength of tracks for Bush Records, Krafted Music and Triple Fire Music. Noted for his timeless progressive style, the Austin resident became a name to watch and would go on to several successes across the next decade, adding Light Side Music, Whose Haus and Musicon in his resume, the latter of which would serve as his primary home. Meanwhile, also calling Austin, Texas home is MeowWow who entered into the world of electronic music as a DJ first, quickly becoming a fixture of the city's vibrant nightlife and performing alongside top international talents such as Nora En Pure. MeowWow's production debut would come just over a year ago via Krafted Underground, a release which would lead to future projects on Elevation London, Perfecto Records and more. Having remixed MeowWow's 'Mystic Garden' to begin 2023, Will Konitzer now joins forces with his fellow countrywoman for their first ever collaboration and Sound Avenue debut entitled 'Moon Dance', alongside a remix from label returnee Forty Cats.

Nikko.Z's Dopamine White opens the new year by welcoming Brann (AR) to the label for his debut EP. Healing from Argentina, Martin Branne aka Brann emerged in 2021 with a nostalgic progressive sound that focuses on melody and groove. With a consistent stream of superlative releases via 3rd Avenue, MNL, One Of A Kind and Proton's Particles, Brann would earn praise from some of the genre's premiere tastemakers, most notably Hernan Cattaneo. Now off the strength of his latest 3rd Avenue vehicle 'Our Secret' to end 2023, Brann opens 2024 by adding Dopamine White to his resume with 'Blue September'. Brann continues to explore his traditional progressive style on the lead selection 'Blue September'. Fluid and energetic throughout, it's a framework of punchy kick drums and rolling basslines which lay the foundation for flashing percussion, crunchy rhythms and ominous overlays to create a dystopian-style vibe. Phasing stabs emerge across the main break, adding a dose of character and tension into the mix, bringing with them anticipatory vibes, as a staggered drum roll sets the course for an energetic club-effective finale. The hypnotic foray 'Lies Don't Cry' follows and further cements Brann's dancefloor minded ethos. Its rippling drive is anchored by powerful beats and a clever coax of vibrant percussive; nicely accented with growling stabs and a panoramic soundscape to tie it all together. A prophetic narrative proves to be the most enchanting element however, tastefully building to a cinematic monochrome across the main break, before intensifying into a smooth meditative finale to round out the release on a high note.

Free Download: Taleon - Susurros

After posting the sketch, I kinda fell in love with the sound and style. I realized that it's a style I haven't really worked in for a while... if not once, really. In addition to that, it's also the shortest track with a 4x4 kick drum pattern I've written. It also doesn't start with the DJ courtesy beats. I tried fitting them in, but nothing that I did made it sound pretty and transitioned well into the song. So, I deleted it, started the track at the flowy intro. It stuck... but I definitely wanted to play this in clubs. I eventually looked at other people's tracks and determined that I should try once more with a club version of the track. Honestly... it was very difficult to do it.. but I managed to put one out. The club mix, however, will only be on the release =P

Also, I couldn't find a sample of a finger snap I liked. So I recorded one and stuck a fast stereo delay on it. 

Hope you guys love it =P

Update: At the request of a friend (and later, realizing he was right) I pumped up the kick drum. Honestly, it just sounds better. Previously, it sounded too dull. Didn't really match the flavor I wanted. You know when you listen to a track so much you think it sounds great every time? And then you come back two weeks later and you're like, "Oh... Oh, no... what have I done?" That was what THAT was like. I also removed the tail end kick drums. I hated ending it like that... Like I had courtesy beats for no reason. 

There will be a club mix of this track, and it will include courtesy beats. But I prefer it without.

Starting at age 4, Russell Paac started learning music. Studying classical piano, he knew very little about electronic music. It wasn't until he was 15 that he started listening and enjoying EDM. Under the Siraph name, he's put down multiple remixes and original tracks. The multitude of artists he's loved in the past are influential in his style today, with the likes of Above & Beyond, Lane 8, BT, Sultan + Shepard, Keinemusik. His Coffee House DJ sets are a study into music he's been gathering influences from since the pandemic, pandemic.
