I wrote this one when I still lived in Brooklyn, after I had met a boy who reminded me of the real life Sid Vicious. We stayed out all night in New York dancing on tables and in between subway cars, and the next morning he was gone - back to Australia. But sometimes this kind of momentary love is the most potent, the most perfect. We all want what we can’t have.

I was driving down Sunset when I saw a neon sign in the front of a liquor store: King Cobra Malt Liquor. That’s when I got the original idea for the song, and it ended up blooming into a dance record about vulnerability and letting the bad guy in because you’d rather let them hurt you than feel nothing at all.

We had the skeleton for this song for over a year before we filled in the lyrics - at first, it was just a beat and a melody I had freestyled until one day I woke up and had the idea to make it a carefree, soft bitch falling in love all summer anthem.
