For the life of me, i can't believe that someone hasn't taken this song and run with it.  It has it all......melody, structure, and a helluva middle/hook.  Then again, it's got that SJT touch that would be hard to improve on.  One of my favorites!

A native Memphian, Susanne recorded her first single at age 19. "Light in the Long Run" on Mercury Records. Joining her on the record were other native Memphians, Steve Cropper and Duck Dunn from the Stax era, along with the Pointer Sisters, singing backup. Susanne spent years building a following in local venues in several groups. Later she teamed up with Pat Taylor, who was also a Mercury artist at the time. Shortly thereafter, Pat & Susanne got together and co-wrote the FM100 theme song "Memphis I'm Coming Home to You" (My Radio's Pickin' Up FM100), which became a mainstay on the radio for three years running. They soon put a band together with Rob & Russ Caudill and Tom Ward called "THE BREAKS". They released an album on RCA Records and released two videos on MTV and VH-1, quickly rising to the top of the charts and staying there for over a year in the MidSouth. They went on to release a second LP under the name "DRAMA ", also on RCA Records and release another video. Shortly thereafter, they changed the name to Susanne Jerome Taylor, released still another video and toured on. Some of the songs Susanne has written have been covered by well known artist such as "Fire in the Wire" by Bailey and the Boys, "All That I Want" by Robin Trower, and "Light in the Long Run" by Martha Reeves and the Vandellas. Susanne Jerome Taylor's career includes being awarded two Premier Player Awards for Best Female Vocalist by the Memphis Chapter of Naras. 

Susanne has co-written with some of today's best known writers, John Parker- "Hard Habit to Break"/Chicago, Steve Diamond- Faith Hill (“Let Me Let Go”), Backstreet Boys (“Never Gone”), Britney Spears (“I’ll Never Stop Loving You," ), Randy Goodrum-"Oh Sherrie/Steve Perry, just to name a few.
