The first release of Slagerparade - Full Pupp´s brand new imprimt for sought after or (too long previously) neglected classic´s of norwegian heritate has finally arrived. Actually appearing on the B side of Skatebård´s “Flashes in The Night” EP from 2006 which was done by Digitalo Enterprises/Kompakt - Data Italia is such a gem you really need to listen to believe how good it is. A Customer Comment from Discogs on the 2006 EP says it all: “I really dig the b side. Data Italia is enchanting Italo disco. Gerd Janson is the influential label boss, journalist, DJ and producer behind the Running Back imprint an doesn't need any introduction nowadays. With a fine ear for unearthing new artists and developing them on his label, Gerd has a very busy schedule and puts out a dizzying amount of music from ambient to disco, house to techno. As a DJ, he has no identifiable style but is a master of many and is someone who can play to just about any crowd and make them move. As if that wasn't enough, as one half of Tuff City Kids he kicks out the club-ready jams that keep kids dancing. 

Back on New Year’s Eve 2015, he played back-to-back with Irishman Krystal Klear, who is at the heart of the modern house scene in his hometown Manchester. His fresh take on a classic sound has seen him win plenty of favour with the youth of the day, as well as getting him signed to Kerri Chandler’s MadTech label. Only active for six years, he has already become a regular on the global circuit and now heads up his own Cold Tonic label as well as hosting an influential show on Rinse FM. With a great sense of humour that always permeates his music, former Hoya: Hoya resident Krystal Klear has a passion for a wide range of sounds. 

Our latest mix is taken from the five hour b2b the pair played that NYE. As such it really found them stretching their legs and playing across the board. From slow disco to playful r&b grooves, 80s synths to classic house, it is a truly playful set that is chock full of jams, all carefully mixed into one explosive and loved-up whole.

Bård Aasen Lødemel, aka Skatebård, got into techno and rave during the '90s before he became a producer of retro-futuristic disco, house, and techno. 
Hailing from a town called Ørsta on the Norwegian west coast, Lødemel moved to Bergen in the year 2000, where he quickly became part of the town's growing club scene. 
After handing over a homemade demo to Tellé Records label boss Mikal Telle, Lødemel was signed to offshoot label Tellektro in 2001. 
His first release under the name of Skatebård, a concise vinyl-only album called Skateboarding Was a Crime (In 1989), was released in 2002, and slowly but surely Skatebård's reputation started spreading beyond Norway's borders. 
Throughout his impressive career of releasing five albums and more than twenty 12-inches, he has steadily carved out his own corner of dance music with a unique flair. Traversing a range of seemingly disparate genres and emotions comes incredibly naturally to the Norwegian artist, whose music oscillates between Italo disco and raw Detroit infused house and techno. With an enviably eclectic collection of the mastery to navigate it seamlessly, Skatebård’s DJ sets offer exploratory excursions through the unknown and unexpected. From festival mainstages to intimate clubnights, Boiler Rooms and radio shows, Skatebård has captivated audiences across the globe, performing at many of electronic music’s most revered institutions.
The dynamic scope of Skatebård’s artistry extends to his work in the studio. Spanning over two decades, his impressive discography is dispersed across labels including his own Digitalo Enterprises, Sex Tags Mania and Bordello A Parigi. With a knack for balancing kitsch with elegance, Skatebård creates music that exudes an air of nonchalant fun.
