We welcome SCAR back to Dispatch Recordings for their 2nd full release on the label – entitled “Call It What You Want EP” 

Following their March debut with the “Call To Arms EP” and their recent Dispatch Dubplate contribution, SCAR have made their intentions clear this year with a penchant for vivid atmospherics set against continuously grueling undertones.

Title track ‘Call It What You Want’ sets the EP off, possessing all the necessary elements for destruction across the release. Off-kilter technical assaults fuse together, whilst a radioactive low end pulsates the chest.  It’s a brutal work of art from this talented London pairing.

‘Dank’ emerges from simple beginnings; stripped-back, yet effortlessly murky, before progressing at just the right pace throughout; exploring new phases along the journey that collude and accumulate within the core to form a deadly final result. This track was titled ‘3 drops’ in it’s early, work in progress stages and it’s clear to see why upon listening.

Next up is ‘Twice Shy’, a track that has been championed and exclusively aired by DJ Hype on his Kiss FM show earlier in the year. Heading towards an impending doom, this track sets up a sense of emergency before the all important drop lands swift and in devastating fashion.

‘Zero One’ ties up the release in a reflective manner, altering and developing throughout. From lush ambient openings, to mechanical bleeps and amen flashes, the track shapes itself gradually and effortlessly. Its one that keeps you guessing on exactly which path the next switch might twist and turn the track down next.

This track will be causing carnage in clubs and warehouses across the land with it’s constant evolution and high energy throughout.
 
Title track ‘Popular Mechanics’ is everything we love about Royalston. A trio of transformation; beginning gently with an uplifting melody which morphs into deeper techier terrain then reaching its climax with a finale of mind warping bass crunches.
 
Taking things back, Royalston explores a more traditional landscape in the form of ‘Strobes’. With customarily blissful vocals, this track is vintage Med School. Perfectly soulful, flawless and refined, it’s as smooth as butter. A genuinely marvelous specimen of pure splendor and elegance that remains accessible to all musical tribes.

The forthcoming EP on CIA, Field's 'Intention Dub', highlights the eclectic mix of artists who have joined the roster since its first release. Featuring a variety of collaborative producers, the six-track EP exemplifies the talented intricacies of Fields and his masterful song compositions. The names that run alongside Fields stand out within their own right, with underground stalwarts Mako, and McLeod, roller top dog Break, frequent partner Villem (who go under their pseudonym Mute) and Forren, who also makes an appearance. As a collective, they represent many of the artists who helped CIA build their impressive back catalogue.

Label stalwart Jubei returns to the label alongside long term friend Tyrone for 'The Arcane EP’.

Taking its name from the club night where they first met, 'The Arcane EP’ is partly a follow up to 2015’s ‘Out of Sight’ with the duo now delivering a full 4 track collaborative release which has garnered support from Goldie to Chase & Status and Shy FX to Break, with loads more in between. 

Jubei & Tyrone’s concept for an EP was triggered by the creation of ‘Stabs’, which since its inception has undoubtedly become one of the most asked about Metalheadz tracks of recent times and was an obvious choice to headline an EP full of energy and accomplishment.
