M.E.H.T. (C.A.O.S. Mix)

Skuld (Old Norse skuld "guilt", perhaps also "future") is one of the three Norns in Nordic mythology, alongside Urd and Verdandi. Her name, like that of her sister Verdandi, most likely doesn't come from ancient tradition, but is a medieval creation by Nordic poets based on common medieval past-present-future concepts of the three Moirai or Fates. However, the mythical figure behind the name may well be older, as part of a nameless trio of women.

Only Skuld's name expresses that she stands for the future. This evidently means, within Nordic concepts of fate, what is owed to the past. This is the event that still has to happen because it can't happen otherwise due to the past.

Skuld is also the name of a Nordic Valkyrie, who may have given the Norn her name.
