Hi, I have used both my Alhamra guitar and my Furch guitar here in this version. Acustic recording which is a bit difficult since all noise can be heard!

Dear friends, the temperature in the north varies unusually much this year. Meter-high snow melts down from persistent rain and then it freezes again. Catastrophic for people and animals living there.

It is raining in the North

It is raining in the north today. m m m m
and it is so strange
since we are used to see the snow coated mountains there
when the winter is here and the animals are taken 
with surprise this day
it is so hard for them to find the trails that they own

When the temperature goes up and down m m m m
at first the snow will melt
and when the cold returns the fields are covered with ice
to a very hard shell and it’s hard for the reindeers
to reach their food
and a lot of animals will die on this strange winter day

The conditions are changing. m m m m
since the sun warms up
all our great oceans and much water will rise to the sky
and all water fall down in incredible amounts
in different places on earth
it is so hard for folks to handle these new conditions on earth

när vintern är här och djuren är tagna
med överraskning denna dag
det är så svårt för dem att hitta de stigar som de äger

kommer snön först att smälta
och när kylan kommer tillbaka är fälten täckta med is
till ett mycket hårt skal och det är svårt för renarna
att nå sin mat
och många djur kommer att dö denna märkliga vinterdag

alla våra stora hav och mycket vatten kommer att stiga till himlen

It is raining in the North version two

I made this for my little sister; it's a string of cameos about the town where we were born and raised - a suburb of Newcastle Upon Tyne.  Low income, but real world, real people, real troubles, real joy, real love, real communities, real humour, real music, real life.  All in gloriously rough 1960's industrial working class North East England monochrome.

For those of you not from that part of the world, lyric translations back to English are available upon request. :)

Started as a scribble, pretended to be a poem for a while, then I decided to noodle along and then.....  Ah, you know how it is.....in Byker town.

Wallpaper of steam trains
Where the sweeping headlights sprawled
‘Cross the ceiling to the old piano
Up against my bedroom wall
In ‘67 the lid came down
Never played again so fair
I’m walking back to Byker town

Cross the bridge to get to school
Rope swings underneath
Bull’s eyes from the slaughterhouse 
Bombed out rail yard stark relief
Billy Smart’s big top’s coming down
But I don’t care

Stench of old men in the Raby Arms
A bottle of dog to take back yem
Dominos and baccy tins
Were all that mattered way back then
Every retail product to be found
In Ernie’s shop just six foot square

Quayside Sunday mornings
Champion, just the job
A week of meat to feed the bairns
For only fower bob
Scranshins from the chippy van ‘round
The side door of the Mayfair

Sent out on the Wednesday
In Charlie Shepherd’s finest rags
Over to the smokies
To get free broken kippers by the bag
Dad got paid when Thursday came around
Treats for us to share

Front step full of babbies
Grazed knees on skinny legs
Back lane rows of nappies
Her face is full of wooden pegs
He’s on the dole no work to be found
Torn bookie slips by his chair

Never washed in years
Kids with mucky faces 
Almost clean behind the ears

Reverie

Early missions to Mars looked for sites to establish colonies.  Because of the lack of atmosphere, caves were searched in order to find places for underground bases that would protect humans from the sun.  While searching a large complex of caves on Mars, a team of Astronauts discover primitive algae and moss growing inside.  As they go further into the cavern, small strange insects are noticed.  Already overwhelmed by the discovery of life on Mars, the team finally discovers an alcove near the back of a large cavern that is covered in bones.  The bones are human-like primates.  This discovery will later be analyzed by scientist on Earth and realized to be the 'missing link' that archaeologists could not find on Earth.

Martian Caverns

Currently on a break from SoundCloud due to real life getting in the way.  Should be back in 2025.

My main influences range from Electronic Music (Jarre, Vangelis, and Tangerine Dream) to Rock, Pop, and Orchestral (Classical and Soundtracks), but also include an occasional bit of Hip Hop, EDM and Dubstep.   I have not tried to imitate any of these artists.  I am experimenting in various genres to find what I like most about each one and see what I can learn from them to add to my personal style.   'Slam-Cut' is a film term for quick jump cuts without much set up.  This is analogous to the variety of genres and themes you might encounter here on my SC page.   I hope you enjoy listening.
