Harlequin - TVee Wonderland

Another cover from Barry Leitch's excellent soundtrack from the Amiga/ST game Harlequin.

When I originally played Harlequin when I was wee this track blew me away for a number of reasons. It had a much darker vibe than what I was used to in games, and it CAME TO A DEFINITE END BEFORE IT LOOPED HOLY CRAP I DIDN'T KNOW VIDEOGAME MUSIC COULD DO THAT WHAT SORCERY!

And that was the Atari ST version. Discovering the Amiga version's music years later was a revelation in itself. Naturally, this remix is based mainly on the Amiga version, but there's a couple of elements from the ST version that I've grown kind of attached to and felt they ought to be represented too.

Stardust was one of the Amiga games I've experienced very late. It featured "Asteroids"-like gameplay and pseudo 3D bonus stages.
I've found the 4th warp stage of the original Stardust game very memorable as the background is rotating and the music is very upbeat.
The game doesn't give any hints about the name of this song but the game files suggest "Umpitunneli HC".

I'm just your average computer science nerd which seems to have an interest in video game music from the 16 bit era. At some point in time I tried to play them using a keyboard for persoal joy. After noticing that there is a common interest on YouTube of watching other people playing an instrument I also tried the same concept. Now and then you will see some videos on my channel in which I play some of the music that I heard and liked during my gaming sessions.
I've used a Casio CTK-810 and a Hohner Viterbi as physical instruments.

But at the moment my interest shifts more to computer sequenced music as producing multi track sampled keyboard music was kinda tedious sometimes. Especially when the notes are very fast and inhuman to play.
