Berlin’s Open Music Lab is back with their second release: Quanta, out on 26-FEB-2022. We're excited to premiere one of the forthcoming contributions by morphena. 

morphena is an Argentinian-born emerging DJ and producer and has been a long-time student of OML and recently started becoming a mentor herself for new students. morphena describes the track as her first production where she can “imprint a hybrid between a club track and a song”, while keeping the lyrics as the main focus and center of the track - listen & support <3  

Open Music Lab: 
The OML label was born out of a supportive community of creatives from various backgrounds and abilities. It offers an opportunity for people to engage with unique blends of musical sounds that are enriched by different cultures and lived experiences. Quanta showcases the music and work of some of OML’s most committed students and mentors. This unique release shows the range of talent at OML and the musical bond and creative collaboration that comes out of the community. Each track on the release is produced by an OML student and is accompanied by a remixed version from their mentors.

Надія в єдності / Hope In Unity - a digital album of 27 tracks, has been compiled by @hoerberlin as a direct response to the devastating situation in Ukraine. 

As the war keeps unfolding, more and more people flee the country and seek refuge abroad. Sadly some are often overlooked and are left to fend for themselves in an unknown country with no one to turn to. This is why local community support is needed now more than ever. 

100% of the proceeds from the compilation will be donated to Bridges Over Borders Berlin - a community-based collective of fellow artists and volunteers that aim to support BIPoC, LGBTQIA+, and other marginalized individuals with housing, essential items, medical care, integration support, and immigration advice.

A selection of 10 tracks delivers the full package of dance floor stimuli fusing breakbeat, house, trance and bootleg with a soft spot for 2000s pop music anthems. Mixed Raw Deluxe unleashes its very own idea of a soundtrack, rapid, soulful at times, for the generation of those who shuffle and sway the jauntiness of the 90s and 00s to the dance floors of today.

Presenting Queens of Club: a two-part VA celebrating the established and up-and-coming women and non-binary producers of Ghetto House, Electro, Footwork & Breakbeat.

Astral Booty, shown here, is the otherworldly, funky, leftfield side of Queens of Club. The recurring theme is dreaminess, but don't let that lull you into a false sense of security as these tracks still slap, and will go to town on your subwoofer! Cute Breaks, Ghetto Techno and Playful Hardcore are just a few buzzwords that come to mind, but don’t quite do justice to the extreme diversity of sounds within.

The title pays homage to the seminal "Queens of Baltimore Club", a highly sought-after LP from various legendary female Bmore artists (like Kotton the Cutie and Mz. Thang) compiled by DJ Technics in 2001. Almost two decades later and the club scene is still a hostile environment for marginalised groups and this compilation aims to address that. Queens of Club is by women/non-binary people, right down to the mastering engineer and the artwork designers, and intended for everyone who likes to shake their ass at high speed!

Morphena - Melatonin Dreams

In May 2020 Berlin-based vocalist & producer jpeg.love released their debut EP "Pleasure Times" in close collaboration with producer extraordinaire Moodrich. Now, 9 months later, a new soft & cute release is born: The Pleasure Times Remix EP! This unique EP features fantastic remixes from a variety of artists: Up-and-coming artists share this space with well-established names and of course some of jpeg.love's fellow members of the Raiders collective contributed to this EP as well. The music is as varied as the artists on it: From Happy Hardcore Pop to heavy duty Breakbeats to jackin' House to Hard-boiled Electro: It's all here in one release!
