Music has always played a very important role in my life. I started playing the trumpet at a very young age, playing in an orchestra & brass band at the highest level in The Netherlands when I was 11 years old. 

Today, I still get inspired by music every day. I no longer play in an orchestra, but make music just for fun using different kinds of computer software and on my Yamaha PSR-E413 keyboard and Yamaha Arius YDP-S51 digital piano. I have never taken any piano lessons, play everything by ear and like to compose my own songs and do covers. It's all far from perfect, but it's all about the fun, right?

Rising Sparks is a rock'n'pop band that brings together shamelessly catchy pop melodies with rocky guitar riffs. Nevertheless, flavors of folk, indie rock, soul and a hint of northern melancholy can be heard in their diverse song repertoire.

Rising Sparks is known for spreading good mood with their energetic live shows. Up to now they have hit the stage more than 90 times in Belgium, France, The Netherlands and they toured in Finland in May 2013. They have been successful in several band contests and their first recording "Over the City" was chosen as the demo of the week by Belgian national radio station Pure FM. Several other stations have also given airtime to their songs.

Rising Sparks' first release "Silence - EP" came out in September 2012. It is available on Spotify, iTunes, Soundcloud and other online music services.

Rising Sparks is releasing their next EP, "Hey World!" that was produced by Eliot James, in September 2015.
