Push Communications' beloved underground series is back again for a ninth edition, having selected the cream of the crop for your listening pleasure. Whether rolling and tribal, deep and disco-laced, or with snatches of acid tech and delicate melodies, this quality compilation is the most trusted cross-section of the hottest sounds in tech house today.

Scene heroes like Vince Watson, Kasper Bjørke and Steve Bug bring their masterful sound to the mix, with standout tracks from this year that pack a powerful punch and demonstrate why they're still at the top of their game. Dachshund is the artist name of Olivier Doret, a DJ and producer based in Geneva, Switzerland who is also the Co-founder of the Clapper label. 

With releases dating back to 2006, Dachshund is an established entity in the scene, and has built a strong and loyal following among those in the know. 

With this Cozy Mess EP on Poker Flat Recordings, he dials in directly to his signature sound - beautifully produced tech-leaning house with tonnes of atmosphere and vibe.  

Cozy Mess, the title track develops around an ethereal arpeggiated melody that undulates and evolves, while restrained synth stabs punctuate the groove. 

Lust offers up a similarly enthralling journey, a mini epic that integrates minor keys and pads. 

Hidden Echos is the last track on the EP, with a tougher beat that sets the tone for some dubby and effected sounds to float on top, creating a rich atmosphere carried forward by sharply programmed drums.

New on Poker Flat, a four track release entitled New Moon, via the Bulgarian born Selderv (now living in Denmark), and several collaborators across the EP.    

The openining track Igray is a powerful tool for the dancefloor - slick programming and oceans of atmosphere make this a stand out track on an EP full of moments. 

Label boss Steve Bug takes a swing at it with his remix, and delivers yet another masterclass in remixing - accentuating elements from the original to create a new vibe. 

New Moon is a co-production with Yasen (Yasen Nedelchev, also from Bulgaria) and showcases a burgeoning partnership - the track is fully primed for maximum dancefloor euphoria.  

The remix comes from Kadosh  - the underground Tel Aviv native with a string of high profile releases and shows - who sprinkles his own magic on New moon to create a perfect counterpoint to the original.

The final installment of the Under One Roof series hands over the reins to T. Nguyen and Ross Gott.  

T. Nguyen enlists the vocal talents of Jade PraiZe with Prophetic Love, which mixes a breaky house vibe with samples and PraiZe’s vocals to masterful effect. 

Label head Steve Bug adds his take to the track with his Way Back Mix - a 808 heavy rework that further accentuates the rave influences of the original. 

Last up, Ross Gott’s Uptown Violets Are Blue closes out the EP and the series with a fine slice of underground, attitude-rich house.

It’s been 18 years since Jim Rivers catapulted into the limelight with his hit debut single ‘Restore’,  going on to build an enviable career that has seen him play worldwide and grow an impressive catalogue of releases on numerous high profile labels.  

Calycanthus is another sure fire winner- an assured and atmospheric track that touches on progressive and trance styles, but ultimately remains a tough, dance floor filler that will work in a myriad of sets and circumstances.   

As a sign of the levels he’s working at, Rivers calls in a remix from the legend Bushwacka! to provide a new perspective on the track - amping up the acidic bass and firing percussion to create a new vibe out of the same elements. 

Last up is Yucca  - a slick and polished mid tempo groover that develops an irresistible groove supported by some judicious drops.

Swiss-born DJ and producer Dario D’Attis continues his streak of high-caliber releases, delivering yet another standout record on Poker Flat Records. 

Known for his deep, groove-driven sound and impeccable production, D’Attis teams up with house music legend Mr. V on Back To The Old, a tribute to the golden days of US house music. Mr. V’s unmistakable vocals set the tone, celebrating the raw, jackin’ energy that defined the era, while D’Attis provides a driving, dancefloor-ready groove. 

For those who prefer the instrumental, the Underground Mix Instrumental is also included.

Adding to the release, NYC house icon Joeski - a veteran with over three decades in the scene - delivers a remix that takes Back To The Old into deep, rolling territory. A staple of underground house, Joeski has crafted a career spanning from the late '90s rave scene to modern-day dance floors. His remix leans into a hypnotic, percussive groove, keeping the retro spirit alive while injecting his signature deep and bumping style.

It's back - and, ten volumes in, as infectiously good as ever: the Deep House primer from Push Communications.

You‘ll find everything a deep house aficionado needs in an anthology that takes the temperature of a scene in feverishly fine form. Poker Flat's Steve Bug kicks things off with 'Coconut Paradise' - a masterclass in crisp, high-definition house - while fellow elder statesmen, Martin Landsky - with a swaying, super-smooth treatment of the excellent 'Da Geh Bo' - and Italo-German house veteran Vincenzo push all the dancefloor buttons you'd expect - and then some.

Alex Niggemann turns up in the guise of C'est Moi, marrying a deadly deep, garage-tinged hue to his distinctively European sensibility, Tim Engelhardt - the wunderkind from Westerwald - serves up a motorik groove with a massive crescendo and both London‘s As I Am and Gran Canaria's Carlos Sanchez take us to the dancefloor with the vocal hook and pinging synth riff of 'In Too Deep' and the bump'n'grind of 'Nu Place' respectively.

Elsewhere, highlights abound, from the crisp crunch and tribal percussion of Djuma Soundsystem's 'Beatboxer' to the knotty piano riff of Johannes Brecht’s 'Fêtes' and the deep, Pépé Bradock-esque ‚We All We Are‘ from the mysterious The Unhottest. There are even two vocal-based contemporary classics - in the form of Sascha Kloeber's husky 'You See' and Yannick Labbé's collaboration with Montreal vocalist Forrest.

Salzburg's Ken Hayakawa shows that his hometown is still alive as a musical force with a minimal groove bathed in optimistic pads, Simon Hinter brings the jazz swing and low-slung sass of 'Easyweezy' and Frank & Tony explore blue-tinged, depth-charge deep territory.

Lastly, a trio of concluding tracks take us into blissful, downtempo territory, from the spine-tingling vocal flourishes of 'Without You' to the falsetto vibes of 'Cranes' to the deep house hoedown of 'Fiddler', with its campfire handclaps and echoing mantras.

Special mention finally to Chris Gruber - a lynchpin of the Hamburg scene as both DJ and A&R man - who showcases his production skills through exclusive, unreleased track 'Rhodes Trippin': an intoxicating thrum of deep, enveloping house.

Energy 52’s Cafe Del Mar probably needs little introduction - first appearing in 1993 and establishing itself as one of the key tracks in European dance music culture. 

The track was voted number 1 in Mixmag’s 100 best tracks of all time, as well as occupying the same spot in a Radio 1 poll of Top 20 Dance Tracks of Last 20 Years. 

Honouring the spirit of the track, Push Communications unveil a remix project updating this classic into a 2016 context, via a killer array of contemporary talent. 

First up, Tim Engelhardt casts his spell over the original, providing an epic 10 minute journey that evokes sunset at Ibiza’s Cafe Del Mar through lush evolving sounds and textures. 

Marcel Janowsky’s remix ups the energy levels with a skippy, vibrant and dubby mix that works the source material in fresh new shapes. 

Dale Middleton’s mix is another epic affair, stretching out and giving room for the fully balearic, feet-in-the-sand Ibiza vibe. 

Düsseldorf-based Mario Da Ragnio goes for a more driving take with his rework, pushing things into a darker formation before allowing the famous arpeggiated melody to shine through.
