Honestly

Emerging onto the Silver Lake music scene, Los Angeles-based Sleep State is the product of catchy choruses, groovy bass lines and the soulful voice of charismatic frontman, Troy Ritchie. 

Their sound features a unique approach to indie-pop, drawing influence anywhere from Motown classics to today's top 40. Sleep State shows an innovative ability to generate a danceable sound that appeals to a wide variety of people.  

After Ritchie’s late 2014 appearance on NBC’s The Voice, Sleep State concentrated their efforts on recording their debut, self-titled EP in a space behind a Karate Studio in Los Angeles. Having to work around the engineer's and everyone's work schedule, the group stayed up till 3am many nights tracking these 5 songs. 

On June 1st, The band's debut single, "Make A Move", was released on multiple platforms (iTunes, Soundcloud, YouTube, Spotify, etc). The single, while very upbeat with driving drums, layered synth, and melodic basslines, discusses overcoming failure, realizing the big picture, and keeping a playful attitude toward circumstances in life. In Support of their next release, Sleep State has a Monday Night residency at the Silverlake Lounge this coming July.
