PREMIERE: Vagabundo Club Social - El Misterio [Moiss Music]

Parisian DJ & Producer Tour-Maubourg has teamed up with Roy Ford and Artist V for two remixes of "Victoria's Secrets," taking the tracks to a stripped back dub sound, evocative of the late 90s New York club scene. With support of the original from industry veterans such as Myd, Quentin Harris & Don Diablo, the remixes are sure to be showing up in record bags all over this summer. The release is the second package in a series of remixes of last year’s Fordian Slip, releasing through Spring and Summer 2023.

Following the May release of his debut album “Rising Despite Circumstances” we celebrate Adam Gillett’s record with a very special collection of interpretations and reimaginings “Rising Despite Circumstances: Remixed”.

For this collection we’ve assembled a truly monumental troupe of producers to give their takes on the anthemic and ethereal originals and the 11 takes that comprise this remix record represent a staggeringly diverse breadth of styles, genres, and tones all while keeping the heart of the original record beating.

Brooklyn based artist Luko M kicks off the proceedings with a lush gently glitchy rearrangement of the album opener “Can We Do Better?” answered by UK producer Grant Deane’s hauntingly ethereal and tender rework of the same tune. Our good friend, Bay area’s Benito keeps things airy on his sparse and gorgeous take on “Like An Animal” giving way to King Grump’s endlessly groovy flip of “Reap What You Sow”. Aussie art pop duo Ducks! turn “Still Going Round In Circles” into a delicious dub odyssey, leading the way for German system heater expert Dogpatrol to melt some faces with a simply rude bass driven take on “Like An Animal”.

Ibiza based Woodland Creature Tsodor turns up with the kind of dancefloor smasher he’s made a name for unleashing upon unexpecting dancers with his storming “Reap What You Sow” flip - opening the floor for living legend Timo Maas’s simply devastating DJ weapon of a rework of mid album banger “Check Yo Stamina On The Reg”. Keeping the dancefloor moving comes Special Zip’s gloriously playful and infectiously vibey play with “Like An Animal”. Midlands resident breaks enthusiast Rawtrachs drops a decidedly euphoric and old school take on the same track before the record comes to stunning conclusion with long time collaborator and dear friend Justin Margovan’s complex, driving and deeply atmospheric rework of “Reap What You Sow” as Nihon Ten.

Originally coordinating the L.E.S.S. Production Imprint alongside The Revenge and DJ 2Three, OOFT! Went on to release music for the now infamous Instruments Of Rapture, Delusions Of Grandeur and Wolf Music among a heap of other labels. 

After seeing success early on with his tracky edits and pitched down house productions, he started up his own vinyl imprint Foto Recordings where he put out music from the likes of Deep Space Orchestra, Luvless, DJ Steef, Craig Bratiey and Andy Ash among others. 

We're very happy to welcome Ali to Masterworks Music for the second in our new 10" on 'The Masters Series' He showcases both his production styles on this record delivering a slower deeper take on some classic Womack & Womack on I Am Love, clocking in around 111BPM and right on time for the fresh Spring and Summer vibes. On The 25th Day we get a deep-as-you-like dancefloor burner that builds and pulls you in with ghostly pads and analogue synths. The Dresden label Uncanny Valley celebrates its catalogue number 50 with a compilation series that stretches over several records. That’s also a return to the beginnings of the label, which started in 2010 with four compilation records.

The first record of the series is already a foretaste of an upcoming summer. With FANTA KORN TANKER Hessen's Golden Boy Lauer stomps through the club, while letting the magic speak through keys. SUMMER INTERLUDE by James Booth is playing out on an entire range of feelings, banging hard and showing off the European producer's Pop music sensibilities as well.

On side b we have the two Dresden based producers Sandrow M and Will Dubner with their fun and funky bass line monster DISCO SCHLAMBONI. While Sandrow M is already established on the label with two solo EPs under his belt, it’s the first outingfrom not-so-new-comer Will Dubner. Another new face is Berlin’s Jules Etienne who contributes DUDE’S DEN, a first class Disco affair, complete with beguiling vocals and arousing percussions.

PREMIERE: James Booth - Summer Interlude [Uncanny Valley]

When the nights get darker, we all need ‘Light Rhythms’… A Robsoul debut from one of the busiest men in house right now; Russia’s Lebedev. 
Four light-footed, sure-styled jacking cuts in total, they follow a whirlwind of releases on the likes of Nurvous, Blacksoul, Piston, Good Vibes Only and Henry Street. More importantly, they all hit the groove bullseye slap bang centre. 
‘Light Rhythm’ sets the tone, swooshing filtered chords, faraway piano twinkles, strong nuances of jazz. ‘Sound Sketch’ takes us up a notch with a much more direct slapping-snare groove and a strong twang of Chi-town spirit while ‘Autumn Mood’ sets the funk vibe high with primed organs, airy percussion shades and brazenly lolloping slapbass line. FInally ‘Raw’ closes the show with a little more introspection and the wooziest of flutters on the fills. Restrained, hazy, unhurried. These will only get better with age. Get involved. Many rhythms make light work…
