Demuir is a DJ artist that is making a serious impact on the dance music scene.  So many of our favorite DJ producers came out to Spybar on August 18th to catch his set.  His productions are FIRE and his set that night was described as "Proper House" by our staff.

Why Deep & Sexy? That’s what people every now and then ask me. The answer is as simple as the question. I try to bring you close to your core through touching you deep down there in your heart. What’s better to get there through lovely sexy vibes? 6 years ago I was still only playing in Holland and played often together with an MC (MC Haits) who also travels the world now spreading love through his vocals. He was the one who always came to me and literally kept repeating himself by the words: you play such f**cking Deep & Sexy tunes like Solomun. So a year later when I started my podcast series I already had the name of my podcast series. Next month I will bring you a more energetic/dancy/clubby version of what I do when I play in nightclubs so you also have a feel of what I do when the night is falling and the sun is down. Avocado is a DJ & Producer from Cologne, Germany. Over the past years as a DJ playing for Lustig Wandern (@lustigwandern), he’s established himself as an integral part of Cologne’s underground electronic music scene. 
Having played countless gigs at some of the finest clubs Germany has to offer, his residency at the famous Cologne-based club ‚Odonien‘ is probably the most important station in his career - his ‚living room‘ provides him with the musical freedom he needs to unfold as an artist. 

Avocado’s trademark sound as a DJ ranges somewhere between Tech House, Deep House and Techno - he himself likes to refer to his sound as ‚Dark Tech‘. Sometimes more, sometimes less melodic, always groovy, energetic & dark. Despite his young age (27), Avocado‘s experience as a DJ enables him to adapt to any crowd - at any given time or place, Avocado knows how to drive an audience crazy. 

Lately, Avocado’s expanded his portfolio by teaming up with his like-minded friend Cross, an aspiring producer who he discovered on SoundCloud back in 2013. As Cross & Avocado (@crossundavocado), the two spent all 2018 producing & playing gigs together. Their smashing club tune „Savior“ has brought them nothing but love & caught the attention of numerous DJs & Labels. The same-titled ‚Savior‘ EP is the Duo‘s first official release [Release: 2019/05/03 on Klexos Records]. There is a lot to come in 2019 - stay tuned!

In 1989 Michel Baumann started spinning as a Hip Hop DJ at local jams in the Stuttgart area. In 1991 he became infected with Chicago and Detroit based House music whilst working at a record store. Michel would go on to become the owner of a couple labels himself, namely Philpot-Records and Phil e.

He also records under the alias Soulphiction crafting musical outings with a touch more funk to them, which I'm sure you will know well. Back though to his Jackmate alias and he will soon be dropping a tasty new EP on the freshly minted 18437 Records. This new label is focused on the outer fringes of House and Techno and run by none other than Tooli of Local Talk fame. After teasing everyone with his recent 12" for Matthew Herbert's Accidental label, Jackmate is in full swing here. He also does Workshops for production and mixing, online and one on one slots, just send a PM him if interested!
