"As we bid farewell to the final days of summer, we're thrilled to present Joe Morris's "Solar Fantasy EP." Written during the darkest days of the Covid-19 Pandemic the tracks are deliberately imbued with a warmth and light. Teen Daze flips the energy of the original to a languid pace for a more poolside atmosphere. Cool electric keys and sparkling chords add a dreamy, hazy quality to the music. Embracing the dream house aesthetic of the original, the Desert Island Disco version offers up a breezy house vibe that moves with an energetic pace, introducing cool piano hooks and breathy vocals. Pleasure Voyage take a nostalgic turn, transporting us back to the heady days of Rimini with a fun italo-house rework packed with irresistible grooves.

The Solar Fantasy EP is a carefully crafted collection of tracks that aim to evoke feelings of warmth, freedom, and positivity, making it a fitting soundtrack for the end of summer."

‘Wildlife’, released a few months back, found Radio Slave tapping into his house and disco roots. It proved a dancefloor smash that got support from a wide array of artists, from DJ Bone and Tim Sweeney to Roman Flugel and Axel Boman. As such, the artists chosen to remix come from similar backgrounds and bring all new perspectives to this irresistible gem. First up are Chicago house legend Roy Davis Jr. and keys playing maestro Byron The Aquarius. Both make the sort of dusty, feel-good deep house that will never grow old and have done so on the scene's best labels. Their sizzling seven-minute rework of 'Wildlife' has jazzy, life-affirming keys and smeared synths that bring the warmth. The drums are rubbery and inviting, and the whole thing brings real musicality to the floor. The second remix is from original Chicago innovator, deep digger and edit king Jamie 3:26 and a young Dutch artist he has long since mentored, Danou P. Between them, they have cooked up gems like 'What It Is' together on Shake Records and remixed for Defected, all with a healthy respect for disco, funk and soul from the 80s onwards. Their take on 'Wildlife' is a piano-laced and upbeat party starter. Noodling bass riffs, zippy synth details and lavish chords make for a sophisticated sound that will swell the heart. Rekids remains ahead of the curve again here with a fresh package that brings plenty of colour to the underground.

Off the back of a deeply inspiring trip immersed in the beauty of Lanzarote, Christophe Salin returns with his latest LP - a softly spoken yet emphatic record that speaks of landscape, sun, sea and the finer things in the rich tapestry of life….

Ever since his first exposure to House music in the 90s, Salin has thrown himself into producing, DJing and all facets of hardware discovery. His initial work on white labels and edits blossomed into the formation of Salin Records, which he has used as an outlet for his recent creative expressions. His sound is firmly established in house traditions, with expert groove lines and melodic sequences being utilized to full effect, but it is his love of equipment which has continued to fuel his desire to explore his sound to the fullest. His tunes are fun, fresh and emotive, bringing together the very best of the genre, with his own personal twist on things riding front and centre throughout his enriching discography.

Whilst Salin draws deeply from house music, his new record ‘Ocean & Cliffs’ draws as deeply from a new source of inspiration - the island of Lanzarote. Following walks through the island’s captivating and dynamic landscapes, Salin was drawn almost to the ‘nothingness’ of space, its quiet and peaceful charm, and as a result, he began work on the bones of ‘Ocean & Cliffs’. When moving through the record there is a sense of Lanzarote’s influence being discovered everywhere - as if turning over rocks on the ground, sifting through sand on the beach, hearing the breeze in the palm trees. There is a soothing energy that can, in many ways, only really be found in nature, where someone is to fully embrace this state of mind and create music based upon these feelings. His new LP has a very natural energy to it, filled with rhythms that echo footsteps through the hills and the notion of being in a space much bigger than a human sense of scale - and that is the beauty of it all, isn’t it?

MIMS is hyped to premiere an epic new remix of Fred Everything's sought after house hit "Here (Now)" by the king of space disco himself, Prins Thomas.

A 10-minute space disco journey as only Prins Thomas can deliver, his "Diskomiks" incorporates elements from both the original 2003 version and Fred's 2020 update.

Back in 2003, nearly 20 years ago now, Fred Everything released 2 albums  on Ralph Lawson’s 20:20 Vision, alongside a heap of singles and remixes. In between those albums, he released a single called 'Over You'. Unexpectedly, the b-side, "Here (Now)" turned into a bit of a hit!  

One fan was Ian Pooley, who always told Fred it was the his best track ever. And as recent as 2019, Ian picked it for a feature in Telekom Electronic Beats about his top 5 B-Side tracks, overnight boosting the Discogs price for the original EP to 100 EU.

Fred felt inspired to dig out the song from his archives. Finding all the original stems he couldn't resist putting a new spin on the song himself. But he wasn't done there and could see it being a good opportunity for reinterpretation. 

Fred tells us, "when I dug out this project, I instantly thought of Prins Thomas as I’m a big fan of his and could hear his cosmic touch on this. It helped that I was working with him on another alias project for his label at the same time. He felt bad that the remix was 10 mins long but I embraced that. It’s a rarity these days for music to really take its time to live and breath. Extremely pleased with the result!"

Digital is out later this week  but you can order the vinyl from a number of stores now.
