The duo were seen ducking in and out of the shadows of Berlin's most infamous clubs, before they finally found their home in the mysterious, Salon - Zur wilden Renate. Today, Peak helms the responsibilities of head booker while The Swift takes care of the one-of-a-kind flyer art and bookings of his own, while the pair simultaneously bang out hot tracks every weekend as residents. 

Together they have helped Renate grow from a club in its infancy to the world-renowned underground mecca it has become today, boasting incredible house, techno and disco lineups on a weekly basis, not to mention a series of open-air events and many wild themed parties throughout the year. This radio special features tracks played by The Guv in his unique DJ sets over the decades. All styles are here. As Dublin DJ legend Billy Scurry noted 'He never let up, in every genre he played. You always knew you were going to be schooled'.

There are anthems here that were played at residencies such as ALFOS  with Sean Johnston, from Double Gone Chapel with Fiona Maguire and Big Vern and from earlier electro/techno residencies such as Haywire &  Bloodsugar.  There are tunes that I heard him play at 110th Street in Galway.  There are tunes that you heard him play, in different Irish and UK towns and cities, over the decades.

Some notes...
I went from 'Smokebelch (beatless)' into 'Spastik' as a listener told me it used to be a routine of his in the 90s.  Another listener heard him "In the middle of a belting techno set, crowd baying - slam Mills-style into ‘higher than the sun dub symphony’ for about 1 min then back into the belters. Doesn’t sound much in the re-tell but at the time was WOW!”
Hence this happening here.

Sean Johnston recounts surprising him by playing Todd Terje edit of M - Pop Muzik. 'I started playing it and got a decidedly arch raising of the eyebrow from the Guv, however as the tune played and the crowd went bonkers, a massive smile spread across his face. It went on to be embraced by Andrew and became an anthem of The Drop years".  Of the hundreds of records that Andrew wowed him with when they played together, one that stood out for Sean was ’Mastership' by Starship Commander Woo Woo.

Why Gary Glitter?  Giles Armstrong, who used to host him at Electric City in Dublin shared this nugget:
"But the night that really stands out in the memory was when he played
upstairs at EC… Dressed like he flew over on his own Spitfire, he proceeded to play a set of Rockabilly oddities that peaked with Gary Glitters ‘I'm The Leader Of The Gang.’  Only he could get away with playing that!"

...it is now.

We also hear the lovely voice of Gerard Sheehy, the Cork trawlerman who influenced Andrew's famous motto and tattoos as ALFOS requiem track 'Serenade' by Tom Demac plays.  I had only located him 24 hours prior to going on air. The planets were aligned.
