Chris's love for dance music all started at the age of 18, having a brother who is a few years older, gave him the opportunity to go out with him and experience some amazing club nights and DJ's that rocked a packed dance floor on a regular basis, it was moments like these that gave him the ambition to become a Dj.

Chris Blade has been a DJ since 1994, in that time he has travelled all over the world to some of the best club nights and dance events imaginable, so he knows first hand what is expected to produce a memorable night on the dance floor!

His career started out in Torquay at the age of 20, playing out on a student night every week at one of the popular bars, Chris soon had a small fan base which helped him secure regular warm up sets at the best night clubs in Torquay, his natural ability behind the decks and the way he worked the crowd with his energetic sets, soon gave him the break he was waiting for. The famous Monastery night club and the legendary Claire's (Full Tilt) both offered him Resident DJ.

It was at this time where he had the privilege to play with some of the best DJ's in the industry on a regular basis, Judge Jules, Lisa Pin-Up, Lisa Lashes, BK, Steve Thomas, John oo Fleming, Graham Gold to name a few and he certainly lived up to the challenge. Another Residency at Pilgrimage in Plymouth and other club nights at Dance Academy (Plymouth), Fish Tank (Portsmouth), Underground (Sheffield) and many more around the UK.

As one of the four founders of Future Sound, which was a very successful promotion and DJ agency, he was a key player in all of the Future Sound nights that were held across the country, but one that really sticks in his mind was at the Mezzanine in Wolverhampton, which was voted the No.1 club in the country at the time, after this very successful night, this also gave him the opportunity to DJ at the Mezzanine sunset cafe in Ibiza, which was located near the famous cafe Mambo.

Over the years his music genre has varied through garage, house, funky house, tech house, electro, tech trance, progressive, uplifting trance, hard trance, hard house, Nu NRG and even the odd bit of drum n bass, what ever the occasion he uses his technical ability with all types of equipment, whether it's spinning vinyl on the legendary Technics, CD's on the ground breaking Pioneers or using the latest digital equipment in Traktor, his DJ sets are always energetic, he reads the crowd, always plays for the crowd and he appreciates how fortunate he is to be a DJ.

My love of house music started pretty much at the same as the music itself in the late 80′s. A mate and I would mix sets at the local youth club in our village and this fuelled a dream of DJing on a larger scale. From the early days of playing in commercial clubs I became known for playing the more upfront/underground house music of the day. This included early Acid House and I went on to play at other local clubs during the early 90′s such as Claires & The Monastery in Torquay, Voltz and Warehouse in Exeter and also ‘Scream’ at the Warehouse in Plymouth

The ‘Full Tilt’ night at Claires in Torquay is where I really made a name for myself in the area playing warm-up sets for Nick Warren, Jody Wisternhoff, Rocky & Diesel, Mark Wilkinson, John Digweed, Dave Seaman, Lisa Loud, Clive Henry, Billy Nasty and more.

Following successful sets in Torquay, I went on to play in Plymouth in the late 90′s for the area’s biggest dance music night, ‘Scream’ at the Warehouse/Oz. Regular dj’s on the night were Sasha, John Digweed, Paul Oakenfold and many more big names.

I was also part of Torquay-based studio and helped create Slapback Records with Dave Parkinson [now a top studio engineer for Toolroom] and produce our own music that also gained play and support from Judge Jules at KissFM.

Since those days I've been grateful to have played some great gigs at venues in the UK, France and in 2010 playing in Ibiza with 2 sets on the main stage at Ibiza Rocks Hotel. In July 2011 I returned to Ibiza to play for Lost in Ibiza, Soundfarm studios with Emulator and also at the massively popular Kanya on sunset strip. I've been a regular in Les Deux Alpes and Alpe D’Huez during winter and summer seasons playing nights at Smithy’s Tavern, Le Breslien, Mini Bar, L’Avalanche Club and also at the legendary Pano Bar situated on the mountain playing banging sets to around 2000 people surrounded by snow! In the UK during the summer months I would host Terrace parties at Torquay Pavilion which has a view to die for!

I had two shows for online radio station KlimakzFM every Wednesday and Thursday at 7pm-8m creating almost 100 shows. More recently over the last couple of years I've been providing monthly resident mixes for Andrew Eastough's Deeper Sounds show on Mixlr and we've also played parties in Manchester and Ibiza together.

Upcoming gigs in 2016 with Deeper Sounds at Ministry of Sound, London in February and Egg, London in March.
