Fabrizio Lapiana [Attic Music] Italy

Born in Rome in 1975, since young has a particular taste for new music trends such as house, acid and rap, discover techno music listening "Mentasm" and "Energy Flash" by Joey Beltram, two records that since then preserves with care.
In the early 90s began to play as a Dj at the first partys in the city, until get to participate in some of the biggest events and clubs not only in the italian capital.
His dj sets are eclectic and difficult to classifiable, ranging from deep, Dub, Detroit and dark techno.
In 2008, finally comes the choice to start producing and base its own records label, Attic Music, that in few years has been able to gather supports among many world-renowned djs and producers of the techno scene.

When we first covered Les Chaos Ambiants, it was clear they weren’t aiming for the usual festival formula. Instead of big stages and brand sponsorships, they’re focused on how electronic music and art can interact with local identity and environmental urgency. For 2025, the festival returns to Sommant, right in the Morvan Regional Natural Park, continuing to build on this concept. There’s still just one stage, no clashes, no sprinting between acts, but now there’s added weight on multidisciplinary art, from Adrien Lamm’s sculptural installations by the lake to workshops exploring endangered species through sound and visual design.

The lineup remains eclectic but united by atmosphere, curated once again by Alfonso Pomeda, who’s also the artistic mind behind Barcelona’s Mostra Festival. The full lineup for 2025 includes ABSIS, Alcachofa, Avsluta, Faery, Fran Campos, Lynne , Merovee, Metshka Pampo, Myles Dillon, Nems-B, Orsu, Owl, Toé, and Sybil. Les Chaos Ambiants seems designed for people who treat listening as an experience in itself, a festival where silence and subtlety can carry as much weight as rhythm or volume. Which brings us naturally to one of this year’s standout additions.

Let’s be honest: some artists play music; others change the room around you. Owl belongs firmly in the second camp. Just a few weeks ago, he opened the infamous “La Cabaña”, the ambient and experimental temple at Perpendicular Festival, with a set steeped entirely in lush, enveloping ambient. It was a lesson in subtle power, transforming a cavernous space into something intimate and weightless. It wasn’t flashy, but it left everyone exhaling like they’d just remembered how to breathe. Owl’s ability to craft this atmosphere without ever sounding forced makes him a perfect fit for Les Chaos Ambiants. Here’s an artist who understands that music in a pine forest doesn’t need to shout. For this month's mix, we welcome Maïore, a French and Berlin-based artist, vinyl selector, and curator of @preceptco. Maïore's sound is rooted in the deep, minimal, and dubby realms of electronic music, today he takes us on a journey through gentle melodies and subtle grooves, drifting between ambient and downtempo. After an extended pause for much needed rest and slow reflection, the Patterns of Perception crew is excited to return to our mix series with fresh energy and a stellar new mix from Jasmin, aka softi (@jazz_brown). 

Soulful, breezy and groove-laden, softi's Patterns of Perception 122 shimmers with her kaleidoscopic, minimal sound. Weightless sparks float and flicker in dim light. Time dilates; seasons drift.

A few thoughts from Jasmin:

Hey Jasmin, how’s it going? What's been happening for you lately?
I’m well, I’m currently living between Lisbon and London this summer which has been a dream! Great food, beach sessions and writing music. It’s been a wild 3 months and I’m just getting myself ready for the seasons changing!

What can you tell us about your mix?
For this mix I wanted to mould my love of groovy minimal and psychedelic tones for the moody season ahead, which is usually my signature sound! I have been producing a lot of this recently and some of my unreleased bits are exclusively inside 💜

⁠Is there a track or tracks that are extra special for you?
I’d probably say my own productions are the special to me as it reminds me of how much I have developed as a producer and artist. I love connecting with the tracks and being able to create my own atmospheric world for listeners to get lost in. But one track that I always come back to is "bluep" by Underground City Loop (a producer from Aus). I have been playing this track for years and it has every sonic element you'd want from a track - low end sub groove with dark melodic synths.

If you've ever had the pleasure of meeting DOC, or even briefly chatted with him online, you’ll know just how deeply passionate and supportive he is about the music he loves. He carries a special, contagious energy that inspires those around him and resonates throughout his artistry as a gifted selector, producer, and curator of the incredible Selene Series / The Continuum podcast.

Today, we are deeply honoured and grateful to share a very special improvised live recording, generously gifted to us by DOC and his machines.

With music, we are always searching for a familiar feeling or experience - a kind of warm, comforting nostalgia - and we find it here, within this beautifully woven, abstract tapestry of sound.

subspiele: why did you call the mix “the .44" ?
‘k’’: i’m currently reading, this year for the second time, paul schrader’s “taxi driver”. travis bickle buys some weapons at brooklyn corner. during this purchase he acquires a pistol, a .44 magnum. so, this weapon constantly plays a role throughout the rest of book, so it stuck to my memory..

subspiele: where did you record the mix ?
‘k’’: the podcast has been recorded in my flat in cologne, on a rainy evening.

subspiele: which is the song that you recently liked the most ?
‘k’’: this is difficult. maybe the remix of ping (hauschka)… as well rainer veil’s “vield”, but it’s not necessarily just the one song, rather the whole ep on modern love.

subspiele: how do you feel now ?
‘k’’: i’m feeling good, a bit stressed, but good. i really look forward to the summer, finally with lovely weather - with the possibility to sit in the park and listen to some good music.

subspiele: how should it go on ?
‘k’’: well, I would like to spend more time in making music again, meeting friends, playing some vinyl, drinking beer and malt, hanging around.
