Smooth was established by Marco Köller from Wuppertal (Germany) in 2006 to seperate the progressive flavoured output from his other musical projects and to dive a little deeper into sounds and other musical genres. Meanwhile, Smooth has become a project for research in Dubtechno, Deep House, Garage House, UK House, Progressive, Drum&Bass and 2-Step, as these styles have been important influences in the bygone years. Marco Köller started DJing back in 1989 and producing in 1994, and since that time, he moved in many electronic music genres. Beside producing, mastering, sound design and graphic design, he operates the non-commercial audio netlabel CYAN that he founded together with Jaja.

Smooth Dub Vintage 2

"A life in minor" - no matter, if you feel minor or major - is my latest collection of 27 brand new tracks i worked on the last 14 months with lots of love and passion. Dubtechno in many forms and variations, but also influences by other musical genres inbetween.

Expect deep and atmospheric Dubtechno in many facets with intense build-ups and long fading outros to give you a relaxing and calming listening experience. All tracks have been handcrafted with lots of details and put together without interruptions between the tracks, so you can enjoy the music completely in a single flow.

My intention on this release was to give melancholy and the feeling of minor a musical face. There is the background noise of life besides emotions fading like delays and reverbs within the music.

This album needs time to listen to, so please take your time! Overall, you will find over 8 hours of music to explore...

Passion, obsession and addiction. For Dubtechno, Progressive, House and all kind of deep music. Thats what "Smooth" is about.

Beside my other music projects "New Age Hippies" (Psytrance), "Smooth Genestar" (Lounge/Downbeat) and "Tenonaki" (Techno/Tech House), i established "Smooth" back in 2006 as project to research in Dubtechno, Deep House, Garage House, UK House and Progressive, as these styles have been important influences over the bygone years.

My intention is to fuse elements and phrases of these different styles, to create this special kind of flow and to ignore musical borders. Therefore, i fuse beautiful and lively pads with dubby chords and elements of Trance, Progressive Trance and House. 

Beside producing and mastering, i operate the free audio netlabel "CYAN" in cooperation with Jaja. If you like as many different music genres as i do, expect to find further unique releases there for free.
