We are happy to announce that we are in the planning stages of an album with this wonderful Dub Techno and ambient artist, Takuya Morita. We are really looking forward to releasing the album: “Place of Solitude”.
While we are waiting for the album , Takuya has been so nice and provided us with this track, "Moment", to showcase on the compilation.  (not from the forthcoming album)

Motor Jazz Mix #1 by David Hanke

While all of us are living the quarantine life, Good Room has asked friends and residents to share mixes for our Solitude Series so you can dance on your own. The 14th mix comes from Tommy Castro. Tommy is a member of DJ Palace, a collective also comprised of William Robbins and DJ Bruce. They started playing records together in their Brooklyn apartment and have since been taking over dancefloors all over the city. Together they have a monthly show on The Lot Radio, Grand Street Sounds. Tommy hosts a weekly party at Chinese restaurant Wei's where he's known for late night sessions. Here's what he had to say about the mix;

"After a couple failed attempts and an overindulgence of conceptualization brought on by an avalanche of free time, I decided I was going to start with this one song and end with this other one. Recorded live at the DJ Palace in Brooklyn, late March 2020. I edited slightly, only to shorten the ambient break around the 1 hour mark. I was feeling a bit sluggish and It was after midnight, not that that mattered. I brewed a mocha pot of espresso, twisted up an effort and hit record. I needed motion so I danced around my living room— drawing shapes for no one and frolicking my way through each selection. This is a mix of elevated electronics gettinʼ down and dramatic. Put this on and jump around."

Smooth Genestar is a project serious addicted to Downbeat, Downtempo, Lounge, Chillout and Easy Listening with passion. The roots and influences are reaching back to the mid 90s, with the legendary CD-series like "Space Night", Labels like "Elektrolux" and inspiring artists like "Saafi Brothers", "Aural Float", "Fresh Moods", "Nightmares on Wax","Pascal Feos" and "Amphotic", just to name a few...

The project "Smooth Genestar" was founded in 2006 by Marco Köller (Cologne, Germany) to give the Downbeat- and Chillout- flavoured tracks an own identity beside the output of his 2 other projects "New Age Hippies" (Psytrance) and "Smooth" (Progressive & DubTechno).

Since 2009, he operates the free Netlabel "CYAN Music" in cooperation with Jaja, and has released there many free tracks under creative-commons licences...
