Fresh off the decks, this is a very special mix. For the last ten years I have been Djing mixes mainly with other people in mind, that is not to say I haven't loved a lot of the music as my tastes are very diverse. However this is the first one I have ever done completely for my own pleasure. It combines, techno, acid, progressive house, Jazz and electronica. I hope you love it as much as I do.

I am just a dude who has a passion for putting poetry into lyrical motion, flavoring it with that good ol’ flowing boombap goodness. I’m taking hip hop back to basics, telling stories, and overloading it with soul, substance, and lyrical depth. 

I just love music, your mom, writing, and being a general socially anxious manic depressive weirdo trying to navigate the world best I can. 

Every now and then I tend to fall into some rabbit holes, fall off the earth for a bit, fall inside your mom a couple times a day, and/or get weirdly wonky with anything house/techno/psybient/LoFi/trip hop/ etc. 

And my cat’s name is Boonchowmow. And she’s probably more badass than you are. Just accept it. ✌🏾

The roots and influences are reaching back to the mid 90s, with the legendary CD-series like "Space Night", Labels like "Elektrolux" and inspiring artists like "Saafi Brothers", "Aural Float", "Fresh Moods", "Nightmares on Wax","Pascal Feos" and "Amphotic", just to name a few...

The project "Smooth Genestar" was founded in 2006 by Marco Köller (Cologne, Germany) to give the Downbeat- and Chillout- flavoured tracks an own identity beside the output of his 2 other projects "New Age Hippies" (Psytrance) and "Smooth" (Progressive & DubTechno).

Since 2009, he operates the free Netlabel "CYAN Music" in cooperation with Jaja, and has released there many free tracks under creative-commons licences...
