Myriam et Caroline ont quitté leurs pays respectifs pour des raisons politiques. Le Maroc en 1967 pour Myriam en tant que juive après la guerre des 6 jours, et la Chine pour Caroline au début des années 90 après le massacre de Tian’an men. L’une était encore adolescente, l’autre passionnée par la langue française. Tout aurait dû bien se passer pour elles en France, et pourtant, elles l’ont quittée en espérant des jours meilleurs au Canada.

Ils et elles ont quitté leur pays pour la France avant de choisir de s’installer au Canada. Ils et elles nous racontent la France, son accueil, ses opportunités, mais aussi ses blocages. Après leur expérience française ils ont finalement atterri à Montréal, Ottawa ou Vancouver, où Halima Elkhatabi les a rencontrés.
