Byron Alvarado is joining us from Costa Rica for our 158th podcast.

Byron Alvarado a DJ, Producer, Instructor of the DJ academy DJLab, Promoter of the TMPL project and one of the representatives of the powerful Groovy and Hypnotic Techno sound in Costa Rica.

He has shared the stage with international artists such as Héctor Oaks, Nastia, RIKHTER, Stef Mendesidis, Daria Kolosova, Fiedel, Métaraph, MCMLXXXV, Vendex, Juan Sánchez and Die Arkitekt.

In his career, has released on renowned labels such as: NECHTO, PURE HATE 000, Laboratorium Records, Be Techno, VAGUE, WINKED, Denso Records, Set of the Day, COOLKIDZ, among others.

In 2022, he debuts as an instructor of DJLab's Professional DJ Course, a role he has managed to consolidate thanks to his great charisma and dedication when it comes to accompanying the new talents that come through DJLab.

"Excited to share this mix with Dusk Records (recorded as an opening set for Sam Paganini). 
In this mix, I tried to craft an evolving narrative that blends hypnotic rhythms with intricate groovy textures, while still keeping the raw and tight essence of techno. 
Finished off this mix with some more rich and emotive dance elements, as well as with some of my unreleased tracks to really encapsulate the essence of my sound. Enjoy listening!"

zeroalpha aka Rabid. Digital artist, producer and DJ, proudly representing Aotearoa-New Zealand. Host of GCA Radio (Jungle/DnB), The Other Side of Zero (Live Dark Ambient Music/Visuals) and Cold Harbour Techno Sessions on twitch. zeroalpha began mixing jungle/dnb in 2003, always focused on the darker, breaks heavy side of the genre. fast forward 20 odd years zero is now combining his passion for the underground sound with his love of digital art. Creating with software such as Touchdesigner and any other programs he can get his hands on to create mind bending abstract works. He can also be found performing live dark ambient sets with a hybrid workflow using both Eurorack and DAW's. This alongside live visuals made in Touchdesigner makes for a deep sonic and visual journey for anyone in attendance.

While somewhat late to bringing techno into his DJ sets, zero always found himself on the techno stage dance floor at 5am at multi-genre raves. Infected by the pounding groove and twisted soundscapes, he now plays regular techno sets on twitch. Staying true to his roots, he aims to take listeners on a journey exploring both the dark and heavy alongside the deep psychedelic sides of techno.
