Self-taught and soul-driven, I go by Butterbaby—a Los Angeles-based mobile DJ blending genres and energies to create music for the mind, body, and soul. What started as bedroom sessions turned into a passion for digging deep, mixing smooth, and connecting through sound.

My sets flow through trap, hip hop, R&B, house, funk, soul, and everything in between. Whether it’s a slow burn or a dancefloor shake-up, I’m all about curating moments that feel good, hit deep, and move with purpose.

Every mix is an offering: genre-fluid, emotion-forward, and rooted in rhythm. This isn’t just music—it’s a mood, a memory, a motion. Welcome to my world.

I’m a music producer and DJ from the east coast. My family moved to the US from Ayiti in the 80s and I was born in Brooklyn. I grew up hearing my uncles play music and I played a couple of instruments myself when I was a kid from the clarinet to trombone. When I was in high school my mother bought our family a computer and that’s where I found my true instrument, in a place that had 0 boundaries for creation. I spent summers downloading music from Kazaa to sample. I would search online for all the original artists for samples for the hip hop songs that I liked. Now I make all kinds of music but my personal faves are hiphop, dance, Caribbean and Afrobeat which all influence my sound.

Between you and me, Erica’s got a huge crush on the intersection of future soul and future bass. When she’s not fully focused on playing Okayfuture & Soultronica sounds, her favorite is playing diverse tropical sets that often span all the way around the globe.

She’s a globe-trotting DJ, producer and music journalist transplant to LA via NYC. Beloved for her curation on stage and her tastemaker role in publications and radio airwaves, she operates in a world all her own she affectionately refers to as ERICALANDIA. She brings a forcefield with her when playing and is a master of moods & setting vibes. 

DJing, Ericalandia ping-pongs year round from coast to coast and loves adventuring to play in fav places like Tokyo, Paris and London. She’s warmed up the Beyhive for Beyonce, played alongside Aloe Blacc & Miguel and just got off mini-Asia tour with Grammy-nominated Soulection artist Starro. 

She loves the versatility in shifting gears to suit settings, be it a silent disco in the woods at SXSW The Guggenheim Museum, capsule release parties for Fenty/Rihanna or Coachella. Erica has been the DJ of choice for fashion lines like UK brand Top Shop, Converse, Fenty and Ivy Park. A fav gig? Playing for Reggie Watts bday at Ace Hotel DTLA. She’s also pretty tickled to be featured in New York Magazine, Martha Stewart & Forbes. But the love notes from James Blake and Francis and the Lights on her Soultronica mixes takes the cake.
