SNOE is back with an incredible versatile yet satisfyingly coherent release. For the balling nr. 8 they have the spanish producers and DJs Jorge Montia and DJ Raid on board with a dark but still pepping track called „Renaissance“. It’s a huge tune with atmospheric sounds, which drew the label bosses Andreas Henneberg and Beth Lydi together for a remix. Their remix is a more minimalistic and technoid interpretation, designed to set every dance floor on fire. For the second remix the label friends Not Usual took their turn on turning the track into a classic Not Usual powertool, dark, deep and rolling.

I got the Spinnin' Records newsletter about the remix-contest of this track while I was on a trip to Croatia for the week, and when I read it I got a great idea for a remix of the track so I started working on it immediately! Although it didn't turn out exactly as the first idea I had, I think it turned out great!

The 8th release on Extinct records see label co-owner Glenn Morrison with a 3 tracker replete with warped baselines, full analog richness, and a club sensibility that will delight fans and DJs the world over. 'Diamondback' is a very heady late night club roller that will appease those with an appreciation for minimalistic groovers. 'Perception' has a very 90's inspired synth design feel to it and harkens back to Glenn's roots with that melodic progressive house vibe. To complete the package, 'Expressions' is more of a casual easy listening type vibe. Much more focused on a modal style melodic riffing throughout and juxtaposed with an atonal club groove towards the tail end, this record has a lot of emotion. To carry on with the Extinct tradition of good taste & solid electronic music, we are happy to present this latest offering set for a WMC time release.

For Maeve’s eighth outing it has enlisted the talents of long time friend Ed Davenport. The record grew from a chance hearing of some new material at Ed’s studio one night and after a brief discussion it was decided that the tracks would find a fitting home at Maeve. 

Although recently more known for his harder techno releases under the moniker Inland, Silver Walks is some what a return to Ed’s roots. Slower, emotive, more contemplative tracks, recorded over a pretty short period of focused studio time.

'Silver Walks' is a synth-led jam. The arpeggiator holds pride of place as the centre of the tune with filter tweaks complementing its progression. 'Kuromaku' has a tougher attitude - heady and cosmic with a deep kick. It means 'black curtain' in Japanese.

A deluge of heavy-hitting support from some of the most legendary titans in dance music marks the return of award-winning Canadian producer Glenn Morrison to the dance floor. 

After a considerable hiatus away from the EDM limelight working as a songwriter and producer for Sony Records and Universal Music Group – in the process bagging Billboard #1 singles and multiple radio awards / certified multi-platinum sales – Morrison is back with brand new long-player ‘Into The Deep’, introduced earlier this week via two double A-side EPs. 

A pure passion project for Morrison, ‘Into The Deep’ is an exquisitely produced piece of work, a true journey of stereosonic discovery. Boasting a sound reminiscent of the critically-acclaimed ‘Northern Exposure’ compilations, Morrison brings an intelligent, thoughtful vibe back to dance music that many feel has been lacking in recent years. From dark, driving, progressive cuts to dreamy, trance-like singles; from throbbing, grinding, tribal tones through to hypnotic, undulating, bass-heavy pieces, this is a world class producer indulging himself and us in sound – doing what he loves and doing it very, very well. 

Standout tracks on the album that premiered earlier this week include ‘Hang Tough’ – where Morrison uses John Harris’ poem ‘The Gospel According to John’ to tell the sordid tale of a drugged out prostitute turning over a normal man to the same hollow lifestyle – and ‘Another Dimension’, a dark and intense build up of sounds swelling through cascading melodies into an eruption of syncopated synth and grand piano riffs that take the track’s sentiment in a completely unexpected direction. Titular track ‘Into The Deep’ lingers delicately on the palate, Morrison taking his time to draw the listener in and out of his creation almost as if we need his sounds to breathe. A little stronger and a little darker, ‘Bumblebee’s driving elements of techno and chugging minimal house underpin deceptively simplistic top layers making it perfect for those mid-set progressions in the early morning hours or, as Morrison suggests, “Space Ibiza terrace early night kind of vibe.”

“I needed to get back to writing these instrumental pieces where the riffs are the vocal lines, and the vibe is a sort of hypnotic mysticism mixed with late night mind bending chasers,’ Morrison continues. ‘‘Into the Deep’ is a celebration of forward thinking progressive house music; a dash of eccentric and brash synth melodies juxtaposed with bright, uppity grand piano chords and warped out arpeggiations that I hope will light up both dance floors and late night music sessions the world over.”

We first came across Jordan Poling's production when he shared a split release on L.A.G with the Point Break guys back in 2014. Prior to that, he had already contributed a track for Fred P's label Soul People Music under the name JD, but the Jordan alias seems to be what he's devoted his attention to the last couple of years. Having relocated from the midwest to New York City some time ago, he's been a regular employee at Brooklyn's Halycon record store whilst also holding a collaborative residency with Cory James at Bossa Nova Civic Club. A musical college of sorts, the combination of the two has resulted in some impeccable mixing ability and an impressive series of releases the last few years, which we highly recommend going back through and listening to. His newest release sees him launching his new label Division Point Industries, which comes spawned off the back of the aforementioned residency. The first outing comes as another newly launched project, in the form of a collaboration with fellow producer Tin Man, under the alias Rolling Ones. Tin Man's acidic melodies and Jordan's deep, resonating house are a brilliant match and we're able to have a full stream of one of our favourites cut from the release. With each of the four tracks on the EP named after classic cars, "Faded Delorian" is a delicate and slow-slung affair that's suited for those much needed breaks from peak time records.
