Born in Damascus 26 years ago, E.lias’s love for music began at an early age. Always listening to a variety of music, he eventually found what he loves best – dark ethereal techno and progressive house. 

He began playing in Syria, becoming resident DJ for a couple of years, before moving to Berlin. Berlin has been his home for the 7 past years, which has offered him many opportunities and connections to learn and explore.

Enclosed our interview:

• What are your musical influences? What is your musical background?

    My musical taste has always been quite broad, so it's hard for me to name specific genres or artists. When it comes to electronic music, however, I have long felt at home in downtempo with its many facets. It's always important to have a good portion of boom and a lot of creak. In my own productions, of which there are also some in the set, I like to play with voices. Especially experimenting with rap has been a lot of fun lately!

• What do you think makes a good afterhour?

   Definitely the people! Whether it's sun and park or curtains and fog is up to you ;) But in any case, it's important to me to be attentive to individuals, especially in larger groups.

• For recordings of gigs: How did you feel about the gig?

   The set is certainly not flawless in some places, but the atmosphere in the Beate Uwe was once again terrific! The sock party always brings a very special homeliness. Perfect to end a Sunday with your loved ones and start the new week sleepy.

Werner started his DJ career in Germany at the start of the 1990’s. His passion for it, success, drive and determination allowed him to play to appreciative clubbers at prestigious venues globally. Throughout his career Werner has played at Yellow, Tokyo; Fabric, London; Panorama Bar, Berlin; Rex Club, Paris and Turntables on the Hudson, NYC; to name a few.
