Takkra's third full length album Universal Medicine explores deeper into soft, mystical, psychedelic soundscapes. Utilizing hypnotic vocals, cinematic guitars, ethnic wind instruments, tongue drums and complex layering of soothing synth textures.
The beats have gone a bit punchier, perhaps more dancefloor compatible, but the overall sound still carries healing, medicinal qualities.

Huemul Is the Mapuche Name.
Shoam is the Tehuelche Name.
Patagonian Deer the english name.
An ancient Tehuelche legend says that the huemules come from the moon. That in love with the Earth, with its twilight amaranth and arterial rivers, snowy peaks, fiery volcanoes, green valleys and proud forests, they approached, every night, the contours of the moon to look at that blue land that bewitched them. And so it happened all the ceremonies, especially those of full moon. One day they got so close to the lunar edge that they ended up falling to Earth. This legend - not written - is drawn on the rock, on a gigantic eaves, in a place in Patagonia. It is a shamanic place.
An old gaucho, between mate and mate, told me that the huemules used their antlers as wings to navigate the stars. That is why they take care of them and move them every year.

Our generation has taken many causes but the most important cause is sometimes forgotten and that's our planet's ecosystem. Today our planet still waits urgently for our action and with the latest events, Mother Earth itself is screaming to humanity to slow down and reconnect with her in a spiritual way.

Modern societies have been treating Mother Earth as if it was their property; extracting resources, polluting constantly, changing the landscape, killing the other animals and destroying its natural balance.

Since the Industrial Revolution, humanity has killed 83% of all wild mammals and half of all plants of the Earth. Two hundred species of living beings are going extinct every single day. We collectively need to change so many things in areas such as the use of plastic, meat consumption, contaminating energies, day to day overconsumption and more. How can artists raise awareness regarding this?

Thinking on how to be simple but at the same time Universal, Cosmovision Records presents ¨Animals of the Earth¨. For this project we have gathered to co-create an ecosystem that lives in a music album. Producers from many places on Earth explored their connections with our animal cousins, remembering that the monkey, the wolf, the polar beer and all the others are our partners in the long trip that this green and lively planet takes in the Universe.

We invite you to come with us on this journey through the musical ecosystem of the ¨Animals of the Earth vol.2¨ to discover, respect and care for these beautiful beings that live with us.

About the song :
chose to use the sound of a Loon for this song because before I was able to support myself fully as a music artist, I worked for many summers as a tree planter doing reforestation in Canada. The call of the loon is a very signature thumb print in the soundscape in many forests in Canada, I would hear their calls echoing through the trees of the forests and over the open water of lakes at sunset and through the night. I always found the sound of their calls very interesting, it's mysterious, sometimes haunting, and at the same time brings me deep inner peace. The tribal vocal sample in the song is a recording that my professor from Audio Engineering school made himself while he was living with one of the northern native tribes in Ontario, which brings another layer of connection to the land, because for those people everything in nature is scared. Working in reforestation, I was exposed first hand to the reality of what the forestry industry does to our land, how much they take without care for the wildlife. The Loon, as well as many other animals have their ecosystems and homes destroyed or put in danger every year because of deforestation, not only in Canada but around the world. My intention with this song is to bring awareness and connection to nature to the listeners, and I hope that people will have more consciousness in their consumption of not only products made from trees but everything they use in their lives, because everything is connected!

“A recurrent theme in my productions, I wanted to explore the mystical and spiritual this time through a representation of the owl, an animal that always fascinated me, as it is depicted in many myths and legends as a mysterious symbol of wisdom, omens and prophecies. In this track, I wanted to highlight its mesmerizing low frequency hooting sound and the ambiance of its natural habitat. “Buhero”, spanish for “owl roost” refers to the nesting place that owls come back to after a night of hunting to rest.” - Nat Barrera

Cosmovision presents '' Animals of the Earth ''

The human race has lived and shared this space we call Earth with the animal kingdom for millions of years but today, most cultures have abandoned the idea that humans are animals like the others. Our modern societies have been treating Mother Earth as if it was their property, extracting resources, polluting constantly, changing the landscape, killing the other animals we and destroying its natural balance.
