The Men - Electric

Ki-005 // Split Series 1/3 (Hamburg)

The two Hamburg based acts Me Succeeds and Arp Aubert are responsible for the first part of a Ki Split Series. On the EP named after the city in the north of Germany the two acts combine their friendship and musical preferences to remix each other and contribute one very own track on each side.

Me Succeeds, with their members Mona Steinwidder, Sebastian Kokus and Lorin Strohm, is a part of Hamburgs Labelcollective i saw music and their songs combine Indie Pop with electronic beats and chords.

Arp Aubert consists of the two founding members of Mirau Records: Stephan Lorenz and Marco Niemerski. Niemerski is better known for his productions as Tensnake.

The Ki-Split 1/3 (Hamburg) is truly a family matter. Because of their close friendship, Me Succeeds and Arp Aubert have created a very intense and emotional record. Soft Metals is an electronic music duo from Portland, Oregon. Its members Ian Hicks and Patricia Hall began writing and recording songs together in the spring of 2009. Inspired by a diverse array of synthesizer music, their sound lies somewhere between dance music, austere synthetic pop, and experimental electronic composition. 
Soft Metals is signed to Captured Tracks and released their first record, an 5 song EP titled “The Cold World Melts” in July 2010. Their debut self-titled album came out in July of 2011. FACT magazine called Soft Metals “one of the most accomplished and ambitious of the myriad new synth-pop acts coming out of the States.” In 2013, they released their 2nd album, "Lenses". They have toured extensively throughout North America and Europe. Currently the duo is working on their 3rd album.
