Description:
Music is colorful, diverse and vibrant as the butterflies. Almost 180,000 different species live in 127 families. The music by Boris Brejcha is like a "Feuerfalter" (copper). On one side the butterfly is relaxing and floating on the wind, but on the other hand he also sets with steam and fire to a fall into a low altitude. This is how it feels when Brejcha makes music.

The fourth album is exactly the description of this "Feuerfalter", a kind of backflash into the impressive career of Boris Brejcha. An album that deliberately shows how the artist works versatile. Times slightly floating, sometimes wild hitting the wing, always full of passion. The influences of his travelings and performances characterize his art again.

This creates a music that may be accompanied on Brejchas audience the whole day: at home, in a relaxed atmosphere or just at night, when the trip through the clubs starts. On the album "Feuerfalter" this individuality is turned on. Brejcha even picks up the desire of his ans to weave a few quieter tracks into his cosmos.

In this offering by the Berlin-based and made in the Middle East label Disco Halal, we bring you something fresh from Tel Aviv. Following Naduve‘s releases on Rothmans and Cocktail d'Amore, it’s time for him to come back home. This release comes tastefully spread with Saturn Memories (Marius of Coma) special Tahini remix.
We shook hands with one of them. The handshake is thought by some to have originated as a gesture of peace by demonstrating that the hand holds no weapon. This ancient, short ritual took place several times, here, with some limited success. Does this ritual hold any meaning anymore? The race is long, far from being close to it’s end. It’s a race for a handshake.
This record is one of many efforts to make this race be heard. It may sound naive now, or even pathetic, but what are we to do? When cousins meet at family dinners they might fight each other for the chance to raise the cup “The Father’s name”. This battle is soaked with the music of their family, they know each other by its fabric. We wish to take them to the dance floor and play them music to shake hands to.

The fourth release in Dekmantel Record's tenth-anniversary, celebratory release series is a collection of new material from some of the label's favourite artists. A blend of the old and new, brought together through a shared love of electro, and wave influenced grooves by the likes of Palms Trax, The Egyptian lover, Interstellar Funk, and Syracuse & Epsilove. 

On the EP, The Egyptian Lover tees things off with his trademark electro vibes. Making his Dekmantel inauguration, the electro pioneer sets the precedent with his 808, retro-futurist aesthetic. It's classes Egypt through and through. No stranger to Dekmantel however, UK producer Palms Trax adds a hallmark slab of classic-analogue, summertime house, a track that will inevitably find its way into his festival set later this summer. French synth-pop act Syracuse & Epsilove -whose 2015 Antinote LP Liquid Silver Dream is essential listening for those who haven't heard it- contribute a dreamlike, electro vocal pop number to the record. Also marking their debut to the label. Amsterdam based Interstellar Funk, the Red Light Radio and Rush Hour analogue adventurist, delivers a track full of playful, yet murky synthetic grooves, with a machine-heart and lively, fanciful melody. 

2017 sees Dekmantel celebrating its 10th anniversary. A decade ago, the Amsterdam crew threw their first party in the Dutch capital; two years later Dekmantel Records followed. And for their decennial anniversary, Dekmantel Records are releasing ten, very special EPs over the course of 2017. For this series, Dekmantel invited producers who are close to their hearts, have been with them since day one, or made a big musical impact on the crew. Artists including the likes of Gigi Masin, Levon Vincent, and Call Super, who all graced the first three EPs released earlier this year. Along with seasoned names, the series will see the indoctrination of newcomers to the label including Burnt Friedman, Ectomorph, and Donato Dozzy. It will also feature the addition of a couple of stone cold geniuses, including Motor City Drum Ensemble, Ricardo Villalobos, Joy Orbison, and Tony Allen.

Gianpaolo Dieli wears his heart on his sleeve, literally. Written in big, bold letters on his arm is a tattoo that tells you to "Share Power." Sounds serious right? Well, Savile does not fuck around. A Chicago native, resident of Smart Bar, and label partner at Argot records, this man not only respects the hustle of his home, he takes the politics of dancing straight to the skin on his body. In the first minutes of the 232nd edition of the HNYPOTCAST, a prefacing voice suggests the potency of music un-interrupted - a call to action? a warning? Certainly both. Not only does Savile want you to move, he wants you to ponder - because the sound of industry, the hard electronic and metallic beats of midwestern techno are not about hypnosis, they are about creation, connection and conglomeration. Naming his original productions things like "Effort Won't Betray You" and "The Only Rule Is Work" strangers get a sense that this is someone not only with the determination to make it but the ethos to make it better. Thoughtful people aren't always thoughtful artists, but in the case of Savile - all the details of his output leave no trace of stoner bullshit. Particularly potent was the cover for his last record, featuring the remnants of a queer installation space and community rave warehouse called 42 Jenkins - a record which also features a poignant secret recording of The Black Madonna talking about how determination and spirit will never let you down. In the increasingly depressing world of corporatized music media, .0084 a cent revenue streams, and tyrannosaurus rexstivals, Savile wants to remind you that good music has always been in bed with radical politics and unclaimed spirituality. This mix may ask you to do some things, but it is union owned and operated so - it won't tell you to do anything it isn't prepared to do itself.

Two years after the milestone SOMEWHERE compilations, Something Happening Somewhere is commemorating the times that have passed, returning with a new chapter in the series. Selecting unique pieces of artists known and less known, the SOMEWHERE series continue their sound based confessional. Telling unheard stories, exposing unseen surfaces and unheard sounds.

SOMEWHERE III is set to be released as two vinyl samplers, with a selection of the tracks featured in the full digital compilations, which will feature four extra digital only tracks. A host of familiar SoHaSo figures make an appearance, but there is also room for new faces like Aril Brikha, KAAP, Ripperton in his stunning collab with Love over Entropy, Equus, Tracey and Mulder. The whole effort is packaged in a beautiful artwork sleeve designed by ever talented designer Quentin Deronzier. There are things radiating in the violet fog, waiting to be discovered. Journeys that are worth making, but will not necessarily provide any more answers. Something is happening somewhere, once again.

Every artist on this SOMEWHERE III compilation is expressing their unique experience through sound waves, telling stories and uncovering a piece of themselves. Is there a line that divides your consciousness from the next? This compilation inhabits a space, best experienced as one entity with many faces. From Love over Entropy and Ripperton’s quantum temperature organic grooves to KAAP’s lush and retro Sunset Vertigo. From Sigward providing an emotional ambient journey to Kiani & His Legion’s Japanese sounding Motion Academy. From Aril Brikha’s disco infused Eat The Heart to Tracey’s hypnotizing dance floor affair.
