Thirteen years ago the Nurture label released upekah, the one and only single to come under the son.sine alias. It’s an alias of a New Zealander who released only a select few EPs under different monikers, and one that sounds as good today as it did back then given all its dub infused techno glory. It’s always been hard to come buy but now Delsin are remastering and rereleasing it into the world once more.

First up is the title track, a double deep track of spacious, gently pulsing dub that initially revels in blissfully ambient swirls before growing a touch more edgy and metallic in the latter half thanks to some panning steel stabs.

On the flip, 'karuna' is just as deep and cavernous. Filling the huge chambers of echo and reverb are more ambient patterns, subtle beams of light and an ever churning, grainy dub undercurrent. Lastly, 'Mudita' is more propulsive and up right, with hunched drums rotating below and rueful ambient drones up top. Classy business indeed from the New Zealander.

Ukrainian duo Woo York blast back to Soma with yet more hypnotic, analogue based Techno with the Siberian Night EP. The duo are on fire right now after a string of releases on their new home label of Soma and this ep is backed up with a remix from the Glasgow based Edit Select who bringing his own, unique stylings.

Siberian Night gets going in true Woo York fashion as a looped out, growling acid bass line has things moving a full pace from the get go. Vangelis-esq pads sear through the heart of this monster giving a retro feel while Woo York really work the percussive end of things to keep this tool kicking.

The broken beat Iron Curtain moves things in a lighter direction as a subtle synth line breathes soul into the big, bouncing low end. 909 drums get rings moving as subtle flicks in the filter bring the synth line to life opening slowly into the break before going back into head down - fist pumping action. 

Edit Select turns up on Soma once again for remix duties and does another fantastic job of title track Siberian Night. Working on the principle of less is more, Tony keeps things minimalistic in his approach but manages to firmly stamp his authority on the track. A rolled out, hypnotic baseline leads the way as ethereal pads slowly work their way in through the spine of the remix.

Powerful techno once again from Woo York as they continue to devastate with their raw, analogue sound!

In the five (five!) years since his cracking debut LP System dropped, the type of music Linkwood excelled at - a meld of sun-kissed house and loping LA funkiness - has become widespread, and perhaps even played out. So the decision to furrow a different path on forthcoming sophomore Expressions (due next week on Firecracker) makes perfect sense.
That being said, the warm tones prove hard to shake, and the precision of craft never truly goes away. What begins as straight techno chugger in the vein of The Field circa '07 gradually emerges from its tunnel into bright daylight. It's a coy move, us premiering this one: "Object" is a bridge. But coming from, and going to where? We've waited half a decade - one week more won't hurt.

Two very different versions of a techno soul. You can virtually feel him putting hands on knobs and twisting and bending the theme in his delicate and hypnotic way. Who ever has seen Minilogue play live this feeling is captured here by Sebastian in an authentic breathtaking way.

"Direct Experience" in its original version is an 11 minute voyage into Sebastian Mullaert's art of shifting and moving frequencies gently from one place to the other without ever loosing touch with the pulsating rhythms that carry all of it into your vein. The music is indeed trippy and demands an appreciation for a hypnotic state we happily approve of.

The Dub version on the flip side is even more loose and secluded you can feel the music not touching the ground for a bare millimeter.

For the digital release we added two remix versions by our Scottish artist Nick Dow and by Hamburgs analogue cyborg Hannes Rasmus as well as two alternative takes by Sebastian Mullaert.

Nick Dow's version is a post Detroit techno interpretation uplifting and dramatic. It has "Jupiter sounds" kicking in that give the track a touch of the "Night Of The Jaguar"!

Hannes Rasmus who has released the high acclaimed "Musik Für Fünf Machinen" on Traum moves the track towards a glitter ball of disco! Guitars are slashing and sound are clashing… Hannes at his best when he has melodies embracing themselves without any reluctance.

Human Machine is the mix of Musumeci and his friends Sisio, Simeone and Pavi’s music consciousness downloaded into a 1024billions Tb Hyper HD to experience first combination between human and machine and see what sounds like. First result is 'Black Mechanism Ep', three tracks that merge the sound roots of the four brains involved giving back a blend of world music, techno and house with a little progressive touch. 

The title track open the ep with a strong 'kick and bass' syncopated rhythm introducing the dark arpeggio spots and an anthemic mama vocals flowing on top of an impressive Bass Synth texture. 'Polymorphism' is the result of an unexpected chromosomic synthesis that occurred after the alteration of the genes, this made possible to turn an initial dark & deep groove into a trancy emotional tune based on hypnotic synth riffs and basic chords changes. Perfect soundtrack of our lost moments. Last pieces of bits 'Encode' is a bass drum knocker with little melodic infection, someway a natural effect of the techno nature inherent to the 4 subjects.
