Make some space under the Christmas tree for the fifth SOMEWHERE compilation and our last release of this year. Among the 12 strong contributions we'll find familiar faces & label stalwarts such as Sigward, Bas Dobbelaer and the French Laura BCR, who earlier this year released the excellent Initial-EP.

There are also some new faces on SOMEWHERE V. Among them Paul Twin, known for his psychedelic techno on the Rotterdam based label Nous'klaer. Paul's contribution 'Callisto' is a mysterious ambient track with floating strings and a slow-motion bassline. The cinematographic Molniya Trip of Vand has a similar vibe. Beautiful and intricate ambient.

SohaSo has always been a breeding pond for new electronic talents and on SOMEWHERE V that is no different. Besides the dreamy shift+ of the talented Sabine Swills and the highly theatrical Scene 2 of Utrecht based producer Rochat we'll find a third new face on this tape: Null Wave. His compilation closer Lizard Person nods to both Squarepusher and Arca and is, with Luke Abbott's remix of Andi Mullers Comedown, one of the few danceable tracks on this tape.

Introvert beauty dominates on SOMEWHERE V, which makes this compilation perfectly suited for the dark and intimate weeks ahead of us.

Alpenglühen continues to establish itself as a trusted source for forward-thinking ambient techno with its latest vinyl release, introducing Vanertia, the new collaborative alias from Vand and  !nertia. This debut offering fuses the distinctive sonic DNA of both artists into a deeply textured and rhythmically intricate EP.

The record draws heavily from the dub techno tradition, with spacious delay lines and submerged chord stabs setting the tone across all tracks. Yet it’s the subtle interplay between syncopated grooves and classic 4x4 pulse that gives the record its driving energy. The percussion is detailed and organic, riding a bed of carefully sculpted low-end that never overwhelms but always supports the movement.

The result is a hypnotic, immersive listen that balances club functionality with introspective richness.

With Vanertia, Vand and !nertia have laid the groundwork for what promises to be a highly fruitful collaboration

Aura Sonora returns with a second release to follow up the fantastic first one, this time it brings together two meticulous studio craftsmen, DYL & Tammo Hesselink. Their Moire Patterns EP kicks off with 'Pattern 1', a deep and rhythmic slice of rubbery techno that rides broken beats with atmospheric pulses up top. 'Pattern 2 slows down to a predatory crawl with icy pads making a dystopian vibe then 'Pattern 3' brings a sense of mystic tribal ritual deep in some futuristic jungle and 'Pattern 4' closes down with more fantastically crafted, dubby, broken rhythms that are topped with organic percussion and almost impossible not to move to. Pure rhythm science brilliance.
