Exclusive: N-Gynn - Renaissance 

Co-label founder N-Gynn is up next on the vinyl-only label Superlux Records and delivers four bass-heavy cuts that come in as smooth and energetic as possible and therefore are summed up under the suitable EP title The Heavens. For the A1, Renaissance, everything mentioned before applies: a powerful bass line features filtered claps, pads with a darker twist and note as well as hints of a wobbling bass and an Acid-line. The last detail is the implementation of spoken words in the track's middle-part adding another facet to it and emphasizing its darker tone.

N-Gynn's EP The Heavens was released on Superlux Records on May 6th, 2022.

Robin Flux is a German DJ/Producer, Artist and Dancer based in Copenhagen. Having always been fascinated by the early era of house music and underground dance culture of the 80s and 90s in the US, he reflects his love and appreciation for house culture in his productions and DJ sets while interweaving influences from Disco, Garage, Breakbeat and Techno. After years of DJing and curating events dedicated to house culture in Germany’s vibrant underground scenes, he has been eager to explore and connect with music, dance, and art scenes elsewhere in the world, playing a series of gigs in Southeast Asia, Europe and lately in New York, while releasing regularly on international record labels such as Miura Records.

SoHaSo continues their summer sampler series with part 3. Again, the Utrecht based record label brings you some forgotten beauties from the past. Mostly from the Lowlands this time.

Perfect Virtue by British trio Shi Take is one of those gems. Tribal house rhythms from 30 years ago, with a bassline that makes you want to wiggle all the way to the center of the dance floor.

SoHaSo label head honcho Nuno had been playing a demo of Tools for Fools by Dutch producer Sluwe Vos for years, when he found out the energetic rhythm track never got a proper release. Well, now it has.

Flip over for some more forgotten Dutch house history. Jibaros is a project from dance veteran Eric Cycle. It has all the elements that made house music from the lowlands so good in those days: percussive beats, a decent baseline and good melodies sprinkled on top. It's a layercake of sweet stuff that just keeps on building. Very pricey on Discogs nowadays, but luckily Cycle still had the original DAT-tape lying around.

Nozem is a bit of the odd one out. It's actually a project by a young dude from the south of Holland but it sounds like he stepped into a time machine which warped him back to the 90s. The vocals (in ancient Greek!) are from Sister of Iris.

Closure track Tinkling Sensation by Delta (Alex Dijksterhuis) is more than 25 years old. With it's fast-paced rhythms this piano driven tune could well be something post-progressive from Scandinavia. But this is the real deal. Uplifting rave music from the days people were still carrying fluor sticks.

Scott Ferguson came to house and techno in one of its most fertile grounds - Detroit, in the mid 90s. Since then he has served up his own take on the timeless genres on a range of quality labels. Now he arrives on Chateau Chepere with four more of his stylish cuts. They are couched in deep house as always but with cues taken from future jazz, garage and plenty in between. These are real winter warmers that will seduce an early evening crowd or lock in a 5 am dance floor in equal measure.
