Deep, trippy and hypnotic. That pretty much sums up the new Nacreous-EP by Shoal on the Dutch imprint NOWHERE. The title refers to a certain glow or color that mother-of-pearl radiates. Shoal is the alter ego of Utrecht-resident Kenny Dean Kneefel. When you have a name that sounds like a famous stuntman, you are probably prepared to take more risks.

And indeed that's exactly what this producer from the lowlands does on Nacreous. Shoal's four track EP combines hallucinant grooves with delicate sound design. Like on Bygone Drums, where ominous distant sounds from a nearby factory creep between the shadows. The same can be said of the title track, a tribalistic tune with a delicate dark undertone.

Never Endings is more uplifting, with its dubbed out basslines and crispy hi-hats. Dubtechno that reminds us of both Monolake and Fluxion. Closing track Morning Float is indeed that, a trip in a blue tank filled with warm water, where you are comforted by beautiful strings and sounds of nature.

Shoal - Nacreous

A “Nixie”, according to Scandinavian folklore, is a shapeshifting water spirit. Disguised as human, Nixie’s were known for playing enchanting music to lure people into their lakes, streams and waterfalls where they would proceed to drown them. 

NIXIE is an enchanting character who fancies the faster hypnotic flavours, as well as the whomp and chunk in all things bass, whilst luring in her audience with the perfect slice of cheese that you just can’t seem to pass up on. Encapsulating those that she dances with, NIXIE’s loving and playful energy fuses her to that relationship formed with those sharing the experience. She is brave and unique in her approach to entertaining her environments and her specialities come in many forms of delicious bass, drum & bass and techno. 

NIXIE has been asked to close many a festival, bringing a big emotional moment to both large and intimate audiences like Dragon Dreaming Festival, Free Range, Convergence and Roots. Moving hearts and hips is her strong suit and she has become a well loved local act at doofs and underground parties in both NSW and interstate including; Chinese Laundry, Burning Seed, Church of Techno, Bass Camp, Art Valley, Soul Synthesis, Calyx & more. 

Along with this she is well-known for her project ‘DOUBLE DIP’, partnering in crime with ‘FUNCLE’, these two have headlined several events in NSW the past year and are local legends to the lineup of festivals like Dragon Dreaming Festival and Art Valley.

Something Happening Somewhere (SoHaSo). 
Founded by https://soundcloud.com/nunodossantos, residing in Utrecht, The Netherlands. "The name itself leaves a lot open for your own imagination."

Attendances was born in 1987 in Ancona, a small city on the east coast of Italy. He's an Italian dj and producer influenced by different types of music, mainly progressive, trance, new wave, electrobeat, EBM, industrial, leftfield, techno, indie-dance, dark disco and electronic music.

His interesting in DJing began almost as a game and he started playing and then working in different clubs and social centres such as Thermos and Kontatto (Ancona).

During university years he began studying different softwares for the creation of sounds, producing songs intended as a photograph of the soul within the passage of time.

After several years of working in sound creation, in 2014 he started his project called "Attendances", he then created his podcast series "Retrofuture" and started publishing some songs with different labels such as Play Pal, Maleante, Esthetique and Emerald & Doreen.

In 2018 he became a member of the Italian-Spanish crew "Carajillo electronique" In 2022 he became also a member of another crew "Circuits" playing in different clubs and festivals in Italy, Spain and France such as:
