The latest premiere to land on Honey & Bass allows us to indulge in something that hasn't occurred for a while - a first time feature on the blog for both record label and artist! Bristol's Spektiv makes a return to Transparent Audio with 'Pressure' EP this week, albeit in a different form compared to what the drum & bass specialists have become accustomed to. Experimenting at a different tempo, Spektiv produces three 'Honey & Bass friendly' tunes by bringing his big sounds to the 140 spectrum. He also takes the expertise of NoSine onboard for a killer collab and today's premiere, 'Empty Club.

We are incredibly proud to announce to you that @Kami-O will be joining the Soil and Sound familia for our thirteenth instalment in the SASDUB series. Bringing his trademark sonic palette to the table, Kami-O blesses what is Soil and Sound’s first record of 2022 with two masterfully crafted pieces.

A/ Solitude

A perfect storm of influences are on show on the A-side track: “Solitude”. A singular atmospheric voice, echoing a style not unlike Najma Akhtar’s ambient tones, chants along with an immense soundscape that just swallows you up. This is met with a heavy and dynamic hand-drum arrangement that leads you into a lively, yet melancholy, plucked guitar line. At this point the rhythm is joined by a mighty halftime kit and bass, joining the already thunderous hand drum rhythm. Kami-O sculpted a true masterpiece for which we are proud to present to you.

B/ Wander

This time around Kami-O brings through an incredibly tight and melancholic piece of contemporary 2 Step. Approaching the timbres laced into the track with a slight orchestral aesthetic, paired with a clicking, syncopated drum rhythm that’ll cut through and stand out in any mix, and basses that’ll fill any room; Kami-O demonstrates his versatility in composing music across the 140bpm spectrum of genres and styles whilst maintaining his auditory signature in everything he arranges.

All records are hand-cut by the dub-cutting master Henry Bainbridge at @Dubstudio onto 10” transparent plates. Housed in hand-stamped disco sleeves and protected by a PVC outer sleeve.

50 copies will be available to preorder.

Screamarts returns to Dispatch with the 'Dreamworld EP.' This talented Austrian producer is known for his dark, melodic sound - incorporating technical, clean percussion with distorted and multi-layered basslines. 

Each of the four tracks on this exceptional follow-up to 2021's 'Prodigy EP' demonstrates a different side to his production, deep and intricate but never formulaic. Effortlessly combining elements from all aspects of the drum and bass spectrum, the final result is as varied and wide-ranging as the long list of multi-genre musical influences that combine to make the Screamarts sound.
