Sojourner’s Truth is the debut jazz album from trumpeter and producer Jasir, a deeply personal project dedicated to his mother, Gwendolyn Sojourner Redus. The album weaves together warm, classic jazz textures with modern rhythmic drive, creating a sound that is both timeless and forward-looking.

Each track carries the spirit of resilience, love, and truth—qualities embodied by Gwendolyn and passed on through generations. With lush horn arrangements, soulful improvisations, and a rhythm section that grooves with understated power, Sojourner’s Truth is more than music—it is a heartfelt tribute, a sonic memoir, and an exploration of legacy through sound.

Cap Kendricks “Keepsakes” album has its first anniversary in April. To celebrate the event we have asked a couple of artists to “remix” their favourite tunes from the album. Singers, rappers and beatmakers alike. We will release the reworks as singles over the next couple of months. 

First in line is Douniah, a very talented singer and performer from Hamburg, Germany who has been on our watchlist for a while. She turns Cap's “Goodlife” track into “Naked Trees”. Douniah is also the featured singer on the new single from Farhot's project “Fuchy” and has a full-length project with beatmaker High John in the making.
