There's the link to the earlier one. The mix was a touch muddy, and although parts of the mood resonated with what I was going for, I didn't feel the song felt ethereal enough. To that end, I decided to do some very odd things with the rhythm. I haven't messed around enough with waltz rhythms yet, anyway...

"Looking at Qaimusu Island now, was akin to putting on a pair of gloves that did not fit. Everything was smaller than it had been when Verse was a child, but that was the least of its problems. Even the awkward memories, missed opportunities, mistakes, and embarrassment of childhood paled in comparison to how run down the island was now.

One day I was listening to the Ratchet: Deadlocked soundtrack and I was like, "huh, maybe I could make something that sounds like that!" While composing, I tried throwing in some sound design inspired by Ryu Umemoto with a tiny bit of slap bass not unlike a Crush 40 song and this composition came into being. I think I'm growing more appreciative of early to mid-2000's 3D platformers as of late.
