My name is I-Sha-Vii (Night flower)and I want to share with you some original songs recorded with different bands/on my own.

Exterior is the artist moniker of Edinburgh producer Doug MacDonald.  The artistic mission is to bring together the formally disparate worlds of electronic club sonics with elements of live instrumentation.  Exterior’s pathway coalesced from years spent performing in bands and nights spent on dancefloors.  Guitar feedback and live drum eruptions provide a textural abrasion and a haunted, humane groove currently absent in much UK dance.  Admittedly, the latter’s unshakable syncopation and melodic pressure inform the method of the former.  The two approaches are synthesised most noticeably in live performance.  Second album HOLOCENE is available on Hobbes Music.

Various experiments with some more serious music I make.

Notes;
1) Pre August 2021: Nothing is DI or 'simulated amps'. Its all Real guitar amplifiers with Microphones*
Post August 2021: Not always. Due to moving somewhere I can't record, I've gone with a compromise: Ox Box. Still uses my amps, but simulates only the speaker. I will try and use Mics as much as I can by hiring space, but I will make it clear in the description when I've used the Ox Box. *also looking at a Torpedo CaptorX and Boss Tube Expander
2) I hate compression and try to avoid it at all costs.
3) None of the music is quantised in pitch or time - no exceptions.
4) Until I have the space to record live drums, the drums are from Native Instruments Studio Drummer.
5) Nothing is recorded to a click track - always to the drums (see point 4).

*There is one track I used DI; Lament for Elders. It was written and recorded while I was waiting for my amp to be repaired.

If you send me a PM,  I'm not the best at  replying or remembering to reply if you send me a track for me to feedback. It just depends on whether I am in the mood when you send me it, or if I remember to listen when I later am in the mood. Feel like this needs to be said as it may otherwise come off as me ignoring you, when really it just depends on how I am feeling in the moment, and whether or not I remember.
