Heavenly Sweetness is a French label spreading colorful music for the soul.

Never Records is a combination recording studio and record shop, setting up in locales throughout the world. The sole proprietor, interior decorator, and engineer is New York-based artist Ted Riederer. Inspired by his own redemptive education at a young age inside the walls of a local record store in Rockville, Maryland as well as the field recording projects of Alan Lomax, Riederer devised his unique community art installation in the early part of this century and has been replicating it with regional variations throughout the world since 2010.

Performers from a locale sign up for recording sessions ahead of time, with no auditions necessary. Riederer usually offers three hour sessions, during which he mixes on the fly and cuts vinyl right in front of the artist’s eyes once both are satisfied with a particular take. The recordings are free to the artist, the sessions are open to the public, and you can’t buy anything you see. Ted hasn’t lowered prices by cutting out the middleman. He is the middleman. He is not a vertical operation; he is an elliptical one, a constant feedback loop supplying its own demand. Still, everyone takes something home, even if it’s the barest speck of record shop camaraderie inadvertently inhaled.

These oral history recordings are currently paired within the exhibition, "Everybody Eats When They Come to My House." 

Everybody Eats When They Come to My House is a curatorial exploration of the Charlotte Street Mission and the creative community in which it served. The Mission, as it was fondly called by Kansas City’s thriving artists, musicians, writers, chefs, craftsmen and new collectors, was a modest rental home owned by the University of Missouri, Kansas City. Artist John Puscheck played host of the Mission for nearly two decades in the 1980s-2000s. Affectionately remembered for its backyard cookouts, art shows, live music, dancing, dominoes, and art making, Everybody Eats When They Come to My House is a dive into the early community of artists that preluded Charlotte Street’s founding and Kansas City’s creative ecosystem today.

Throughout the month-long exhibition, Charlotte Street Gallery will be transformed into a backyard setting that will proudly display loaned artworks in an immersive installation. Additionally, Charlotte Street will be producing an oral history project to gather, share, and preserve stories from the Charlotte Street Mission’s artist community. These interviews and recordings will be edited and added to the media gallery listening station within the exhibition, and later archived in Charlotte Street Kemper Library. Friends and guests are welcome to complete and share their version of the show postcard and any ephemeral offerings that emulate the spirit and generosity of the Mission on the “Puscheck Potluck Table.” These items will remain on display through the duration of the exhibition.
Each track is a shared story or reflection about Kansas City artist, John Puscheck, the Charlotte Street Mission circa 80s-00s, Evil Monkeys, BBQ, KC music scene....

DUB ADDICT SOUND SYSTEM
                 Hiver 99 : venue successive des Sound System anglais Aba shanti I et Jah Shaka à lyon . Les basses puissantes et le coté mystique du reggae poussés à son apogée, c'est une révélation pour Pilah & NineteenDub !
Respectivement producteur et dj, Ils créent un collectif, construisent leurs premières enceintes : Dub Addict sound system est né .
Le collectif s'étoffe rapidement du chanteur Joe Pilgrim et des producteurs Boudou (rip), Roots Massacre et Anti Bypass .
La grande particularité de Dub Addict est d’adapter en live les méthodes de production habituellement destinées au studio: support multipistes, cuts et mixages des effets en direct .
Au fil du temps la sono grossit, les dates se multiplient, ainsi que les rencontres et les productions discographiques, plus particulièrement la série de 5 EPs/vinyles intitulée S.O.U.N.D (Sounds Around/Jarring Effects) et l’album « Showcase #1 » (Sounds Around) sortie en 2013, toujours en vinyles .
Aujourd’hui ils partagent leur attrait pour cette musique et communiquent leur passion du sound system avec un public toujours plus nombreux .

PILAH 
Electro Dub Steppa 

Guitariste de Kaly Live Dub, Pilah mixe ses productions en live avec une table 
de mixage et divers effets. Il offre un set mélangeant du reggae-dub incisif, 
des bricolages sonores, de l'électro et les voix de chanteurs comme Learoy Green (UK) , Shanti D ou Joe Pilgrim . 
Un live très abouti qui se démarque de la scène steppa dub française par un style et des arrangements 
uniques... 

ROOTS MASSACRE 
Massive roots dub 

Massacrer le reggae pour en faire du dub!! oui, mais avec style. Sa méthode 
de production est digne des années d'or de la musique jamaicaine . 
Son premier maxi "Fools Policy" feat Learoy Green a été salué par la presse et joué 
par les plus grands sound system anglais. Il est accompagné au chant par Joe 
Pilgrim. 

ANTI BYPASS 
Tubby's disciple 

Le terme "bypass" désigne un mode qui coupe le son d'un effet. Parfois c'est 
utile... mais il semble que ce soit un peu diffèrent sur les productions d'Anti Bypass. 
Un live 8 pistes dans la plus pure tradition du Roots-Dub a la King Tubby des 
années 70'. 
De l'enregistrement des morceaux jusqu'aux techniques de mixage en passant 
pas la fabrication et la modification "maison" d'une partie de son matériel, ce 
live devrait ravir ceux qui comme Anti Bypass ont bloqués sur le son des vieux 
studios jamaïcains sans jamais y avoir mis les pieds.

Strange Fruit Femmes is a collective that centers the works of Black femmes living and thriving in the Midwest --
in an interest to build and cultivate a community of care and support for BIPOC Femmes through transformative ARTs.  

Here We Are. We Are Here is coming together… An honoring of the words,sounds, and spaces that hold us. Using the legacy of Black, Brown, and Indigenous, music and literature, we will celebrate and be in conversation with one another about the many influences of our peers and ancestors' work on the spectrum of contemporary Black Artistic life and spirit and its place in our society. 

While carrying the gift of storytelling and cultural preservation each recording will be archived as an oral herstory,using Audio Collage Assemblage to communicate memories, illuminate paths forward, and hold care for and support the presence of Black and Indigenous artistic spirituality.
