Magenta Skycode is back!

Magenta Skycode, a brilliantly original indie rock act led by Finnish pop visionary Jori Sjöroos, releases a new EP with four tracks after almost three years silence.

We Will Be Warm EP is out on Saturday 17th August (on vinyl 12”/digital).

Magenta Skycode is one of the most recognized and established Indie bands in their native Finland. The band is fronted by multitalent Jori Sjöroos, one of the most successful producers/song writers in Finland, who has produced such acts as PMMP, going multi platinum as a producer and sold over 400.000 records, as well as Niko Kivikangas, Kalle Taivainen, Valtteri Lipasti and Mitja Kiviluoma. Sjöroos has teamed up with american songwriter/producer M. Maurice Hawkesworth to write the lyrics for all albums.

 

Magenta Skycode has released two albums before this new forthcoming EP “We Will Be Warm”, their first album, entitled IIIII (pronounced Five Bars) was released in 2006. The band’s classic debut album IIIII reached the Top 40 on Finnish sales charts and got excellent reviews worldwide. In 2010, Magenta Skycode released their sophomore album, Relief, to excellent reviews. The album won the award for Best Indie Album at the Finnish Emma Awards (which is the Finnish equivalent of a Grammy) while also being among the contenders for the Finnish nominee for The Nordic Music Prize due to the album’s outstanding lyrics and emotional impact of Sjöroos’ voice. The album, with heartbreak anthems such as Kipling and Trains Are Leaving the Yard has been shared on sites such as The Cool Hunter and Vimeo where it featured as a staff pick, earning Magenta Skycode huge amount of plays on various sites in the process. Relief stayed as number one on the Finnish sales charts for several weeks, as featured on the top sales charts for as long as six weeks.

Burning Hearts brand new single ‘Work of Art’ pays homage to human creativity, or then it's just an ordinary love song. It's the first song from the upcoming release which will be out later this year. The single is accompanied by a video where well known and less known artists and art visioneers appear.

Finnish indie pop stalwarts Burning Hearts (Jessika Neuman and Henry Neuman) are back!  A dreamy electro folk pop band specialised in writing timeless songs with beautiful female harmonies, poetrylike lyrics and a sound closely attached to nature. Their first album ‘Aboa Sleeping’ and second album ‘Extinctions’ have received tremendous amounts of love and listening and has taken the band to New York, Paris, Hamburg and the major venues in Finland. Extinctions was even VICE´s Best album of the month at that time and now with two critically acclaimed albums, a host of packed-out festival appearances and a formidable dose of musical experience already under their belts, these Finns are a real force to be reckoned with. Let´s hope Burning Hearts gets the attention it deserves with their new releases. Jessica and Henry have done the hard yards and gifted us with expertly crafted pop gems, now its the turn of purveyors of independent pop music to repay the favour. See you at the gigs!

The New Tigers gave us some advance warning that new activity from the band was upon us with the release late last year of the six minute plus wonder that was 'Three Shadows'. Now we give you the fully fledged confirmation that Do Xao, the third album from Turku's most famous feline's will be with us very soon- the 20th April 2018 via Soliti. 

To warm you even more to the delights contained within Do Xao, The New Tigers share new single 'Domino'. a bright, shiny jewel of guitar pop with one foot on the mid-tempo dance floor – "Lights will go off /if we don’t move / and Music will stop/ if we don’t groove /and Gravity wins - unless we take off right now" the band tell us over the most sublime melodic chorus. This is pop music - make no mistake.
