A friend from university remembers me leaning out of a car window singing "I wanta get me some hongos". I remember no such thing.  In honour of his recollection I created that song, but from the perspective of a 75 year old. I still wanta get me some hongos, but ...

A song about my distant past, all those highs and lows
I don't want to presume that everybody knows
That back in my early days I liked a taste of

The Northern Lights - Short Journey

The Pale Light Tears draws its evocative strength from the stunning sight of sunrise over Faxaflói Bay. Laxá & Heima Kvartett blend post-rock power with classical texture to capture the quiet yet forceful beauty of morning light breaking across dark water. Jussi Siglarson’s heavy guitar riffs and Mike Taylor’s church organ echo the vastness of the bay, while Matthias Helguson’s steady drums and Bjarne Guðjohnsen’s bass ground the piece in a rhythmic heartbeat, like waves lapping against a rocky shore. Strings from Lisbeth Heima, Sif Árnadóttir, Natasha Guðmundsdóttir, and Ída Sigurðardóttir rise and fall, painting the first soft rays of dawn. This track drives forward with relentless energy, yet maintains an air of reflection, honoring the fragile beauty of the bay’s pale light.

Laxá og Heima Kvartett blanda krafti eftir rokk með klassískri áferð til að fanga hljóðláta en kraftmikla fegurð morgunljóssins sem brýst yfir dimmt vatn. Þung gítarriff Jussa Siglarsonar og kirkjuorgel Mike Taylor bergmála víðáttur flóans, á meðan stöðugar trommur Matthiasar Helgusonar og bassi Bjarne Guðjohnsen slípa verkið í taktfastum hjartslætti, eins og öldur sem skella við grýtta strönd. I made this song about having to leave a comfortable and familiar situation constantly, leaving without a "countdown to goodbye" is one of the worst things that can happen because its so abrupt.
