How to Be a Heartbreaker

Hi, I'm Jennifer. I like imagining what life would be like if everyone got along. I have blurry eyesight, but only in my left eye. My favorite thing to write about is relationships, they are what consume our lives we all have them, and we all have to learn how to adapt to each relationship.I'm easily excited, scared, and shocked. You can ask anyone, I jump at about anything! I'm 23 now, but I swear I am still a kid at heart. I really love showing people what I meant when I wrote a song, I want them to feel how I felt and really truly understand through my words what I was going through at that exact moment. I knock on wood constantly. I lost my best friend, my granddaddy, at a young age but I know his spirit is still with me. Every time I see a butterfly I am transported into a time when all we would do is go catch butterfly’s, grasshoppers, and have all sorts of adventures. He will forever be my biggest inspiration.  I have a cat named Jack Johnson. She's named after my favorite singer, Jack Johnson, who has also inspired me in more way than one.  People think it’s weird that I named her that even though she is a girl, but I had set out to find a boy and fell in love with the beautiful Bengal cat that she was but still didn't want to change the name I had already chosen, so it stuck. I also have 3 dogs and 2 horses, animals are my life, that's probably why I worked at a horse barn for 4 years of my life. I eventually moved on to a vet’s office and I am currently working at a high-end dress store in Dallas and I couldn't be happier!  I live in Dallas, I have always wanted to live in the heart of the city and finally branched out and got a townhome nearby! Love it here, it’s so diverse from women with Louboutin heels to the homeless on the street there are so many people to meet!

Music has always been my escape from the world and gives me the outlet to release my feelings into song. When I was 15 years old I was inspired by (brace yourself) the movie Freaky Friday, I was so impressed by Lindsey Lohan’s ability to play the guitar and was convinced I would learn myself. That I did, 8 years later I still have much to learn but I have embraced the fact that I will never be the "best" guitar player in the world. I have kept the fact that I sing and play guitar quite because I have never been very confident of my ability to sing, that all changed when I met Jason. He was so confident in his talent that he brought his guitar with him everywhere and sang to anyone that would listen. His confidence inspired me to finally break out of my shell and show the world what I got, even if they think I am horrible or don't like the way I sing, I will know that despite this fear, I tried. The first Taylor guitar I ever held in my hands was his, and I fell in love. With a crazy turn of events I now own that guitar and it’s my favorite thing I own.

I love my friends, most of whom I have known my whole life. I grew up in a private school in Garland, Texas and graduated with a class of 32 best friends. I don't really think you can ever stop making new friends or learning about as many new things as possible. I also don't think you should ever take life so seriously, act like a child sometimes, why not? Do I still randomly put Lion King in my DVD player, YES! You can NEVER be too old for Disney movies... I think that's something Peter Pan would have probably said. My friends say I am crazy but I have always wanted to travel to Africa and chill with the lions, if they eat me alive, what a great way to die! I just hope I get a picture before I die to put above the closed casket.
