Slam drop another hard hitting and dynamic release on Soma with the Scourge EP. As the Glasgow duo build up to the release of a massive project later in 2021, this EP has them at their most devastating. Three intense Techno workout await from the ever in form pairing of Stuart McMillan & Orde Meikle. 

Deflect opens with thunderous yet hypnotic percussion driving the track as tension building synths sear through. The Passage ups the pace as twisted, radioactive synths melt throughout the track, guided by missile like percussive strikes. Keeping up the relentless vibe, title track Scourge brings the pain with the hook serving up severe punishment as Slam’s uncompromising drums thrash solidly from beginning to end.

After a great Skryptöm 50 compilation combining remixes and collaborations with twelve artists, Electric Rescue is back with 'Forgotten Tolerance'.

The EP is made of three techno dancefloor tracks, a powerful energetic 'Forgotten Tolerance', a trippier 'Black Ceremonium', a techno tunnel 'Trehver' and is completed with pure electro new school vibes on 'Lying Neighbours'. On remix duty, polish producer SZMER presents his unique and personal approach to techno.

Portuguese based Nørbak returns to Soma with his third single for the label, the Myelination EP. Nørbak is quickly making a name for himself in the global scene and has just complete his debut album to much critical acclaim. The young producer has built a wealth of knowledge on sound design and is Cleary represented in his music which is deep and rich in sonic experiments whilst retaining dancefloor focus. This latest EP has Spanish Techno maestro Oscar Mulero & fellow Portuguese talent Lewis Fautzi, deliver two fantastic remixes that perfectly compliment the originals. 

Nørbak’s ‘Myelination’ starts the EP with driving percussive elements that propel the track from the opening. Swamped with light & ethereal FX, dark and droning sounds take the track down a ominous path. Lewis Fautzi steps up next with his remix of Myelination A more minimalistic interpretation he manages to continue the dark and direct momentum of the original. On the flip, Mirante rattle hards with steady and precise percussion, bolted together with heavy rolling kicks and sub and a perfectly muted rhythm throughout. Techno don Oscar Mulero closes the EP with his version of Mirante. He immediately ups the ante with driving 909 beats and huge atmospheric FX that guide the rhythms. Mulero always on point with his signature sound design and techno aesthetic.

Glasgow Techno stalwarts Quail + AISHA are back on home turf for the 3rd release on Soma with the, Sunna EP. Following up last year’s ‘Leatherbound EP’ the pair’s collective works have brought around three new hard hitting, banging tracks that merge their love of Techno’s various disciplines into one cohesive pack.

Title track Sunna offers up the EP’s darker and more sinister tone. Heavy kicks and fierce rolling synths drive across this propellant track. Gower has a more upbeat feel but the duo keep things dance floor ready with their typically hard and fast style; layering up percussion steadily as a twisted synth hook steadily unfolds throughout. Stim closes out the EP and has the Glasgow based duo on a slightly more deeper and contemplative tip. Sturdy percussive workouts are the backbone of the track while atmospheric, morphing pads and synths take control as the soul of the track.
