Burgeoning Detroit based producer Uun debuts on Soma with his Proletarii EP. Having only just broke into the international scene, Uun has impressed with releases on Mord, his own Ego Death imprint and Glasgow’s own Animal Farm. His dark and pervasive sound continues with this 3 track release on Soma. 

The Descending Passage opens the EP with syncopated synths and an obliterating kick drum workout that only increases in intensity as more percussive elements join the fray. Cruelty Is Nothing New takes things down a darker more cerebral path with electrified, pulsating synths twisting and melding around tripped out drums. Give Them Rope closes the release with a more hypnotic feeling as polyrhythmic structures drive the synth hooks while jacked up and groove laded drums provide the power.

Following on from Lewis’ storming debut album and a release that see’s Soma soar past the 400 releases mark, we proudly bring you the 2nd single Range including a sub heavy remix from Glasgow based producer Deepbass. Lewis has been on top form of late and his album has found it’s way into some of Techno’s biggest players. With its steely, uncompromising vision of Techno, the young Portuguese producer is stamping his claim to be one of the scenes brightest prospects.

Taken from the album, Range fits the definition of that perfect dance floor tool. Earth shattering drums power this behemoth of a track as metallic percussion aim to crush. The track is pinned together by a haunting, looped of melody that further adds to this tracks dominance.

Glasgow based producer Deepbass who has seen recent success through his own Informa Records takes on Range and seals it with his signature deep and pulsing sound. Rolling out the sub bass for this, the young Glaswegian goes in hard with punishing percussion form the start adding his ethereal soundscapes to the already mysterious melody of Lewis’ original idea. 

The EP is rounded off by an exclusive track Astronauts and Lewis once again shows his deeper side with this pounding, dark techno offering. Noise pulsing throughout, this track pushes the boundaries as distant electronics float around in the space between.

Phobia – Nice kicks and a great job on the chords, this really remembers to the 90s techno tracks.
The Pills – Accurate choice of sounds combined with magnificent atmospheres with a deep flavour.
Traction – The most self-examining track in the EP. Great groove and very refined breaks for a high-impact track, definitely.

Hitting the music press headlines recently was news of a second Floorplan album.  Now M-Plant delivers a first taste of this highly anticipated release with two tracks from the album, ‘Music’ and ‘Tell You No Lie’.

Floorplan is already well known as Robert Hood’s house, disco, funk and gospel outlet, which this year evolves into a family affair with co-production alongside his daughter, Lyric.  ‘Victorious’ will be the second Floorplan album and follow-up to 2013’s ‘Paradise’ which spawned ‘Let’s Ride, ‘Baby Baby’ and the massive ‘Never Grow Old’.

Set to replicate the success of ‘Paradise’, ‘Victorious’ will be released in June.  To precede it, the single released at the end of April is comprised of the bumping house groove of ‘Music’ (which received it’s first global airing on B.Traits’ BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra show in February) and the disco rotations of ‘Tell You No Lie’. 

Both tracks are exceptionally infectious, with tough beats, glorious vocal reprises and sure not to disappoint.

The ever reliable Lewis Fautzi returns to Soma with his furious brand of deep and hypnotic Techno. We also welcome debuts on the label in the form of two stunning remixes by international Techno stars, Sleeparchive & Sigha, who both turn in very unique takes on Fautzi's work.

Fautzi's Eerie opens the EP with deep pulsating rhythms and a real tripped out feel as each element of the track synchronises to create that perfect Techno tool. Berlin's Sleeparchive delivers an immense and ferocious version of Eerie, turning the deep original into a wild, mechanical workout. The darker vibes continue as Fautzi unleashes Horizontz with its stuttered percussive workout that punctuates rasping white noise and growling synths which modulate effortlessly through the track creating the desired tension. Our Circula Sound boss Sigha debuts on Soma and his version of Horizontz takes on a whole new life as his more subtle and melodic approach feeds a powerful and carefully crafted beast. Fautzi rounds off his latest Soma EP with Mental Circuits, once again going down a deep and murky path as understated rhythms through the synth and percussive work build the pressure.

Fautzi is calmly climbing into the higher echelons of the Techno scene and with releases like this, its clear to see why.

New Yorker Anthony Cardinale aka Avision, makes his debut on We Are The Brave having caught the attention of label boss Alan Fitzpatrick with his chuggy and deliciously deep beats. “I love the direction Alan is going with the label, and the broad range of his musical taste. I'm blessed to be a part of it."

Title track ‘The Come Up’ has a growling low end, a thick groove and roaring rhythmic movements – a track which couldn't be more perfect for We Are The Brave. “I’ve been playing pretty much everything
that Avision sends me. He has a very mature sound that you can tell draws on a wide variety of influences, which gives his music a very unique flavour” – says Alan.

Both featuring vocals, ‘Get It Right’ has a euphoric 90’s house edge, alongside an energetic beat, whilst the short stabbing vox effect rhythm in ‘Out Of Sight’ makes this the most minimal, linear track of the release. 

“I am genuinely so excited to have this release out on We Are The Brave – for me it represents the next step in my career, and a sort of ‘come up’ in the industry.” 

‘On The Floor’ is instantly catchy with its hypnotic hook. It’s got that chunky NY old school sound that Avision seems to effortlessly create.

'Why Are We Here?' is a driving peak time track with an infectious vocal sample and a Laurent Garnier inspired synth line. 'XS' is slightly more serious and has a darker vibe. 'Hikari' finishes off this EP with a more musical and warm analog vibe.
