With a creditable discography which includes releases on labels such as Frozen Border, Semantica, Gynoid Audio & Diffuse Reality, Mary has proven that hard work gets you somewhere.
Mary Velo’s releases have gotten rave reviews from sites & magazines such as Resident Advisor, Groove, Fabric, FACT, Little White Earbuds, De:Bug, Juno, & Boomkat. Her tracks have also been played & charted by Silent Servant, Function, James Ruskin, Ben Sims, Rebekah, Brendon Moeller, Edit Select, Dominik Eulberg, Toby Tobias & ROD, which has brought Mary to the list of upcoming techno talents. Her track "Detune“ (out on the Frozen Border Minutes In Ice comp) was also featured in Sandwell District's Fabric 69 mix cd.

@midland: “With this mix I wanted to try and capture the sound of me in the club during a long set in the part of the night when you and the crowd are locked in to a groove; a time when you’re able to make left turns, but it feels totally natural. As ever unreleased records sit alongside new records alongside records that came out 10/20/30 years ago. I definitely wanted to build to a more electro/rave crescendo in the middle of this, and try and plot a course through some broken stuff towards the end. I really enjoyed recording this one!”

Efdemin has all but perfected his deep, expertly reduced take on house and techno. The German artist has mastered his form over the course of numerous 12”s on various labels, including three albums on Dial Records. They are intricate, mind bending affairs that take you in on yourself and constantly explore new ground. His hybrid mix CD on his own Naïf imprint and Curle last year was another career high point, and recently he has turned himself towards experimental and microtonal composition with yet more fascinating results. February 2019 will see Ostgut Ton release New Atlantis, his latest album and one inspired by Francis Bacon’s unfinished 17th century novel of the same name. Promising to fuse his left-of-centre take on dance music with a new found passion for experimental sound art, it’s the latest chapter in a fascinating artistic story. 

His podcast for us is a decidedly club-focussed mix, featuring the sort of warped synths and underlapping grooves you would expect of the man. There are multi-layered tracks of percussion, sound design and stringy rhythms to start, then things slip into long, draw out passages of tunnel vision techno before the drums begin to hit harder to carry you home. At times playful, at others deadly serious, it sums up the career of Efdemin perfectly.

Spectribe (real name Karol Rakowski) has been a VJ and multimedia director for more than a decade. He performed at all music festivals in Poland, cooperating with such bands as Skalpel, Miloop, Oszibarack, Igor Boxx. As a multimedia director, he co-created performances by Krystian Lupa, Jan Klata, Agata Duda-Gracz, among others. He also collaborated with Brian Eno at the Wrocław Multimedia Fountain, where he held the position of Artistic Director. Co-creator of special effects for the film "Rabbit in Berlin", directed by Bartek Konopka, which was nominated for an Oscar. Fascinated with electronic music for years. Founder of the SLAP group, passionate about strong and good sound and an energetic dancer. His sets are stylishly heterogeneous and strongly reflect what sits in his head. Spectribe supported performances of artists such as DVS-1, Regis, Dasha Rush, Paula Temple, Function, Answer Code Request, Etapp Kyle, Headless Horseman, Phase, IVVO, Deadbeat, Extrawelt, Hector Oaks, Fiedel, Norman Nodge, Dax J, and Yan Cook.

Eric @Cloutier on the inspiration for this mix: "It's impossible to fully describe the importance of Theorem (@theorem-thx) in my life. Upon first hearing the “Nano” album I was immediately sold on his sound. Moving artfully between psychedelic, dub and chill varietals of techno, the picture he painted on this full length on Plus8 blew my mind…and honestly still does. Fast forward to the “Mantra One” EP, and I knew this wasn’t a fluke but a revolution of a genre. Almost like clockwork, singles on a sub label of M_nus started dropping; I was indoctrinated in to Theorem's sound 100% at this point. Beautiful, patient, delicate, unique, and timeless - Theorem’s records, both solo and with a handful of equally amazing friends, such as Stewart Walker, Sutekh, and Swayzak, are at once undefinable and unquestionably from one defining point in electronic music history. I’ve been fortunate enough to stay friends with Theorem for well over a decade, and he’s blessed me with a trove of unreleased transmissions I’ve never felt comfortable putting to a recording until now. Without this music  I honestly don’t know where my techno life would have taken me, but I am forever indebted to Theorem for what he unintentionally did to a random connoisseur back home in Detroit.
