Mexican dj/producer from Guadalajara residing in France is a upcoming artist thats been giving a lot to talk about. With his debut just a year ago he caught the attention of artist such as Acid Arab, Manfredas, Vox Low, Local Suicides, Inflagranti, Xinobi, Golden Bug, Nick Warren just to name a few. His work has charted the top positions of Beatport NU DISCO/INDIE DANCE (6) and Juno MINIMAL/ TECH HOUSE (3) and has been remixed by the likes of Sascha Funke, Curses, Damon Jee, Mytron and Ofofo, Ali Kuru, Richard Rossa to name a few. Signing with labels such as NEIN Records, Tom Tom Disco, Toolroom, PLAYGROUND, Esthetique and more. His sets take you from a slow tempo Balearic sound to a slow dark disco vibe full of sequence and rhythm. His been featured in France premier festival Nuites Sonore.

BLOT #001 - FLXXX (Free Download)

Hi there, this is the already third installment of the Familiar Faces anthology. For those who missed the first two: all the contributors to this fine selection of tunes are whether label residents who already provided their fair share to its backcatalogue or friends and affiliates, the Riotvan family hooked up with in one way or another (pun intended, by the way. Looking at you, New Hook). The connecting link being a certain like-mindedness in mentality and sonic expression, once again shaping this compilation up to the utmost current status update of what is going on in the Riotvan world.

And for a kick-off there's even some sort of premiere ushering things in with Reznik & Mikesh's opening tune Calumet. Both dudes are far from being strangers to the label, but teaming up and handing in this ferocious Acid stronghold of a tune, after they introduced themselves just recently with a Telepopmusik-remix, puts themself out there as a force to be reckoned with.     

Then there's Llewellyn, Riotvan mainstay and one of the focal artists when it comes to NeoDisco done the smart way. His new track Falling Apart definitely is no exception to the rule - delightful arpeggios, peculiar vocal-parts and one hell of a catchy synth-hook, engaging the time warp right back to the 80's.
It's no big secret that Jennifer Touch has a certain knack for that era, too. Her Hollow Flake gives us a foretaste of her debut album that will be out in April on Fat Cat Records and checks the listener in on another cruise through bleak emotive waters, building on a stomach punching beat and rough acidlines, graced by her sometimes distant, sometimes heartwarming chant.

Mexican friends Zombies In Miami have been playing on Riotvan nights already and now they leave their mark within the release records as well with Soleil, a soulful peaktime gem full of gloomy deepness.

Then there is the Zombie's compatriot Paulor with a hyper-organic sounding Letter To Futura that's shaped out of e-guitar and bass, Postpunk-emulating drums and percussion and an even Krautrock-reminiscing, trippy jam-aesthetic.

Speaking of Postpunk, closing things off are New Hook with their haunting and forceful O T - a cold sounding, yet fiercely intoned social criticism with unmistakable nods towards Malaria or Die Tödliche Doris, yet presented with an urgency that sets them apart from any formal retro-self-sufficiency.

Fabrizio Mammarella is an Italian selector, producer and label owner among many other things in the world of Music. 
Boasting a discography that includes dozens of clubbing anthems, remixes, as well as successful collaborations with Lauer (as Black Spuma), Rodion, and Clap Rules; he is also the “one man band” in Telespazio, an infamous side project focusing more on experimental music.

Since his first release in 2004, Fabrizio has been constantly delivering hits for labels such as DFA, Permanent Vacation, Correspondant, Les Disques De La Mort, Future Boogie and his own imprint Slow Motion Music / Wrong Era records, leading the Italian Dance Wave movement for over ten years. 
Fabrizio is also the head behind Emet, a record label centred on limited special releases crawling in the realm of weirdo electronic music, especially cut for the quirkiest and demanding dancefloors.

Fabrizio has played and hosted label nights at some of the best clubs and festivals around the globe, with regular nights in Berlin and his home country of Italy. He is definitely not moving in slow motion.

That Espacio Cielo is definitely one of our favourite Indie Dance/Dark Disco labels is not a surprise at all. Curated by Parissior (SXDNS206), the Spanish imprint has been opening the interdimensional gates of this “new” scene not only to established artists (K-Effect, Azaria, Daniel Monaco, Andreas Rund, Celestino, Daniel Monaco aka Disco Mortale, Futuristant, and GUYD, just to name a few), but also to skilled newcomers (U-Msk, Cannibal Coconuts, Hyman Bass, Pan-Opt, and 9Claws, also just to name few). For its 19th release (considering EPs, singles, compilations, edit series, and free downloads), Espacio features JG Outsider, known for his previous works as 2 Rare People. “Back To Earth” brings four solid originals plus two awesome remixes by Cannibal Coconuts and label boss himself.

We were asked to premiere one of the most interesting tracks of the EP: “Deep In” is a 105-BPM theme that introduces itself with a haunting vocal hook accompanied by an ominous bassline. The threatening synth stabs and vibrant acid layer complete the highlights combo of this macabre and scary downtempo piece. When you press play, it is advisable to turn on the lights. Differently from brave dinosaurs, you may not be used to such a dark and sinister atmosphere. We come from space, we know the drill.

‘Bufebe' is the name of the newest EP from Mexican producer Bufi and mysterious Lille producer Kubebe, member of the electronic band, Volcan La Peté.

This new work consists of 5 original tracks and was created completely online. During these last months the producers took turns and shared files to work on the tracks projects, which are inspired by birds, bicycles and insects.

The EP is a mix of organic and synthesized percussions, drowsy and mysterious melodies and psychedelic landscapes, creating an amazing jungle of sounds. The cover was made by Parisian artist Anne-Marie Gratton.
