You don't get the nickname "King of the Cut" for nothing...

Over the years, Danish DJ and producer Flemming Dalum has built a reputation for being a dab hand at the edit. Italo is his life-long passion: he's been dedicated to the darker, underground shades of the sound since the 1980s.

His impact on the genre is remarkable: he's made nine edit packages for Centre Neptune; created mixes for Mothball Records, Bordello A Parigi and Roller Disco Records; and reworked tracks by Klein & M.B.O, Koto, Steel Mind, Mono Band and so many others.

He's also a longtime affiliate of Red Laser Records, the Italo-indebted Manctalo imprint run by Il Bosco, which he's contributed a ton of edits and remixes to. The Manchester label reached the ripe old age of 10 this year and to commemorate the imprint reaching a milestone anniversary, Flemming has whipped up a special mix of his favourite label cuts to take the listener on a journey. In his own words, "the sound of Red Laser will show you the way."

She grew up discovering new music via the internet, through peer to peer networks as well as radio stations such as Overfitting Disco and IntergalacticFM. Despite missing the last two and a half hours we still managed to record a good bit of our all night b2b2b2b2b2b session for AUF LEIWAND at Celeste on 9.11.2024 with Alaska Al, Heap, Julian, Luziprak, Marc Graebnor and myself playing only Austrian tunes all night. In its slightly chaotic amateurishness, i think its a great representation of the giant potpourri that is the more obscure side of Austrian pop and dance music history of the latter part of the last century ;)

Futur (Im)Perfect Mix

To celebrate the end of an era, I've dedicated this show to the Ciao Amore Baci party, that Hendrik and I have been running from 2019 to 2024. This special excerpt is from a very early edition in January 2020 when Hendrik and I just played all night, because we did not expect a lot of people short after New Years. I would say this recording represents pretty much what we've been doing with this party, which was not just an "Italo party" but a night open to organic funk and disco sound from the 70s mostly from Italy but also from other parts of the world – up to 80s Italo and synth pop on a rather unknown level. Here are the first two hours.
