"In Focus Live" recorded at Modulab Eindhoven event "In Focus" using the Soma Ornament 8 live for the first time.

And it was the first time after 18 month with real audience \0/

Patch info:
The Ornament 8 is the heart of this set up controlling the Lyra and modular gear. The 8 Ornament cells trigger gates, create a clock which is used as input for a clock multiplier. Playing the Ornament switches create all kind of loops.

The Ornament itself is patches in a way that "pass" output is used on regular basis which make the loops develop in an experimental manner.

Beside the SOMA Ornament 8: Lyra 8, Ether, several ErrorInstrument modules, ThreeTom Modular MS-22 filter, DIY "string" (via Koma field kit + the radio) & Korg Kaossilator.

The recording is done live with no editing afterwards - just some slightly EQ'ing before exporting the audio.

The Ornament 8 opens new sequential raids :-)

At Friday September 28 2018 SONICrider was the opening act at the main stage Dutch Modular Fest 2018 The Hague.

The approach for this improvisation/performance was a soundscape working towards a climax but never touch one, a so called antiCLIMAX; during this fest a lot of climaxes passed the several stages and antiCLIMAX was "the starting point".

Wonna thank the Dutch Modular Fest organisers for having SONICrider: again this fest was a place to be meeting so many like (sound) minded peeps. Had a great night at the boat and a perfect breakfast prepared by the "ZeeKadettenKorps".

On July 10 2020 MOVEMENT was played live in the Polybase Studio The Hague Netherlands and mixed with live video art by Visual Scumbagz (Roger Vermolen) witnessed by a selected group of modular friends/artists/makers.

We succeeded to capture a moment in time in a unique way: where the visuals make it a surrealistic, on the other hand realistic view of our world today.

MOVEment is a composition started as a studio project using tape manipulation: this version is inspired on those recordings.

- DIY instrument “String” & “Can” played with an Ebow, iron objects & chains.
- ThreeTomModudlar Stevs’s MS-22 filter: all recent MOVEment recordings use this unique filter.
- Rebach GR11 VCO (output splitted and fed into the MS-22  & Curtis filter)
- KOMA Elektronik field kits - controlling a motor - radio - LFO.
- ACL QLFO controlling movement of the filters and itself (rate).
- Error instruments Clock module: the heart of the set up.
- Korg Arp Odysses

- Several Piitsburgh Modular utilities (Time Runner - Generator - GenXpander -Mixer - VCA - Outs)
